Article: Holder’s No. 2 in 2009: Gunwalking, Fast and Furious a ‘terrific idea’

In 2008 representatives of this administration were out claiming that 90% of the guns that were involved in Mexican drug gang violence came from the US. That then was definitively shown to be nothing more than a bold faced lie and distortion of the facts. In fact, it was only 90% of the guns that the Mexican authorities suspected came from the US and therefore had asked to have a trace done on... From those is was found that 90% had come from the US. The Mexican authorities themselves have reported that the vastest number of Mexican drug violence guns came from other Central and South American nations.

This fact did not support the narrative that the Obama administration was attempting to weave as a reason to pass new gun control legislation. So suddenly the administration approves a plan to flood the Mexican market with literally thousands of American firearms. Mere coincidence?

Clearly the released e-mail evidence shows that this goes far upwards into the administration (Breuer is only one person, removed from Obama himself. That one person being Holder). Holder is of course sitting on the most damning evidence until after the election or even longer in order to protect himself from prosecution.

If you read the released e-mail mentioned in the article it states, "We think this is a terrific idea..." Who's "we" does Breuer have a mouse in his pocket or is he speaking for himself and Holder -or even - himself, Holder and Obama?

When all of this finally sees the light of day (if we're lucky enough to ever see the bottom of it), you will see that this was indeed nothing more than an effort to skew the numbers of American weapons involved in Mexican drug gang violence in order to bolster the demand for new gun control laws. This administration is unconcerned with the innocent lives lost along the way because to them, the ends always justify the means.

The more time goes by the more the left's global warming coalition is falling apart. More and more scientist are parting ways with the declared "scientific truth" of global warming. Of course we know these 16 will be decried as no longer being scientists, just like the long list who came before them. You can't possibly be a "scientist" if you don't believe the dogma! You obviously HAVE to be bought out by the petroleum lobby. Right?

Look this has happened before. Galileo was excoriated when he declared that the Earth was round. Scientific dogma at the time insisted that it indeed was flat and anyone who claimed otherwise was deserving of any and all derision that could be mustered. In the end... We all know he was vindicated.

The left touts their "scientific consensus" that man-made global warming is occurring but that is not how science is done. Science isn't a popularity contest for ideas.

Allow me to explain how science is truly done. There is a little thing a fellow named Galileo invented called "the scientific method". The largest hallmark of the scientific method is the insistence that a hypothesis be predictive.

You see, suppose you observe a phenomenon and you wish to prove what is causing it. The scientific method dictates that you form a hypothesis. Then based on that hypothesis you design an experiment intended to test that hypothesis. Your hypothesis, if it is correct, should allow you to predict the outcome of the experiment. So you perform the experiment and objectively compare the results to that prediction. If the experiment's results do not match the prediction, then the hypothesis is flawed. Finally the scientific method dictates that your results be verified by objective third parties, to eliminate any possibility of personal bias.

Global warming theory does not pass the requirement of predictivity. They are consistently revising their predictions and models. That tells us that is is not then settled. For it to truly be predictive, they woould need to declare in advance, "we will see a specific number of degrees of increase in the global average temperature for a given period". They can not and will not do that. They'll give very broad estimates which will vary each time you see them.

Another thing you will find is that the global warming scientists are resistant to releasing their research and findings for third party review... Oh no doubt they'll release their figures and measurements for friendly corroboration, but not to the nay-sayers.

No my friends, this is not settled science. No matter who much they subject one to belittlement for daring to state that fact.

Finally, when they claim that those scientists who decry global warming have sold their souls, then I need to point out the true state of affairs. Global warming is used as the cudgel to force us to invest in "green" energy and technologies. So far, Obama has invested over $6.9 Billion into "green" energy companies. ALL of these companies can be traced back to funding his election campaigns. We also see how well those investments have gone. Between investments in just Solyndra, Beacon Power, Ener1 and Evergreen Solar $650.3 million of American tax payer cash has simply evaporated into liberal campaign funders' pockets. So my friends there is indeed greed at play on both sides of the equation. No matter how much they try to deflect your attention away from it, it is a fact.

Santorum Returns Rome

Tired and too broke to continue, Rick Santorum has decided to abandon the fray in Florida to the squabbling frat boys Mitt and Newt. Personally, I think this is quite sad. Rick hasn't descended into this prepubescent battle of egos that Mitt and Newt have. I fear that this ego-fest will end up only feeding ammunition to Obama in the end.

If we allow Rick to pass from this competition we may well be tossing out the only opportunity to have a viable candidate in the general election that hasn't been fundamentally damaged by the primary. We should consider this carefully. The professional political establishment is enamored with Romney because they believe him to be the "most electable" but this childish fray may well endanger that.

Now I want to be absolutely clear... I will wholeheartedly support whomever garners the final nod to become Obama's competitor, but I do have my preferences. If I had to enumerate those preferences they'd look something like this:

2.) Newt Gingrich
3.) Mitt Romney
4.) Ron Paul

If such an impact occurred today, power lines would serve as a huge antenna soaking up the energy from the passing wave and directing it into the electrical grid and any thing plugged into it. This surge of power would destroy large portions of the power transmission grid and any consumer electronics exposed to it. Satellites would be instantly struck silent. Imagine it, a world with no electricity, no television, no phones or cell phones, no computers and no radios... Imagine that world... Imagine having only days or hours of warning before it struck. How would you fare in such a world?

Well charges were dismissed against ALL of the marines involved, save one. No the libs needed a scapegoat, a sacrificial cow, one Staff Sergeant Wutterich. The best they could do against him was saddle him with a charge of "dereliction of duty". This was a case where our marines were hit with an IED and in the process of reacting to that attack, a large number of civilians, even some women and children were killed in collateral damage. (and of course our enemies never set things up that way on purpose right?) This again was a situation where smarmy armchair general liberals sitting safe, fat and cowardly in their arm chairs were trying to dictate how men under fire should react in the heat of battle. Oh the much ballyhooed liberal "moral high ground"... Makes you want to puke doesn't it? As if the "party of perversity" has a clue what morals are! Listen if you haven't been there, in the combat boots, don't open that ill-informed stinking hole under your nose.

Well it seems that Newt Gingrich managed to beat "Mr. Inevitable" in South Carolina last night by a hefty 25% points! That brings us to the curious situation where all of the remaining candidates (the serious ones at least) have won one state. Santorum won Iowa. Romney won Vermont and Gingrich won South Carolina.

Now we move on into Florida. All of the normal media outlets are of course prognosticating that Romney will take Florida. Personally I think that Gingrich will see a hefty bounce off of his decisive win over Romney in the Palmetto state.

If I were asked I'd still have to admit, that from the remaining pool of candidates, Santorum is the most appealing to me. He's the one that brings the least amount of baggage into the race.

Beyond Speaker Gingrich's tempestuous marital history, he is still weighed down by the results of an ethics investigation that cost him his speaker-ship. Nancy Pelosi has already threatened to release the details of that investigation. Doing so would cost her her job in the House, but I'm sure if it looked like Obama was headed for a loss against Mr. Gingrich that she'd happily fall on that sword for the "good" of her party.

Romney on the other hand has his own issues. He is not well loved by his base. Most of us know that he is just telling us what he thinks we want to hear. Then there's the issue of his tax returns and his maladroit handling of the demands that he release them. Obama has set this election up like it or not to be a contest between him and the senate, framed in the color of the "99%" versus the "1%" and Romney is certainly a card carrying member of the "1%". That is why the left and the mainstream media is pushing so hard for him to be our candidate. Their tactics have been expressly designed to target Romney and even under the mild fire of fellow conservatives on this front, he's shown himself to be less than prepared to weather that fire.

Now moving on a tangent from that topic...

We are going to need to help to derail the president's plan to shift the attention away from his own abysmal performance onto the Congress. We Tea Partiers sent our representatives to the House to thwart Obama's efforts to "fundamentally change" this country. We sent them there and then we sat back down in our easy chairs while they did our bidding and lapsed back into our staunch, traditional, conservative silence allowing them to flutter in the breeze. We need to cover their six! They're doing as much of what we asked them to do as is humanly possible in light of the circumstances.

We need to also defuse this whole 99% vs. 1%, class envy garbage that the democrats have artificially injected into this race. EVERYWHERE that an "Occupy" movement crops up, we Tea Partiers in the area should gather to counter protest. We should allow America to see that the Occupy Movement's selfish demands are not voiced on behalf of all of us. So far they have gone utterly unchallenged.

Do you remember how refreshing it was during our heyday to look around yourself and see that you were not the only one thinking these heretical thoughts? We need to reassure ourselves of that again.

We also need to continue to show the stark differences between them and us. How many rapes were ever reported at ANY Tea Party gathering? Now is our time to act again. If we do not act we may well see another harrowing 4 years of an Obama presidency. I know that all of this activism stuff is tiring. It's a pain in the ass... BUT it is what the other side is good at. If we stay silent, that silence will most assuredly be construed once again to be consent again. The left will be able to claim that their patchouli stinking operatives in the Occupy movement speak for all of us and I don't know about you, but that motley mob of selfish anarchists most assuredly do not give voice to my sentiments. Without our boisterous presence as a counterpoint how then can our candidate (whoever that may end up being) disprove the contention that Occupy is the only genuine American voice?

It is time now for us all to resurrect our ire and to step back out into the streets and make ourselves be heard once more. I know, we've been called all kinds of names and drawn the liberal's anger. We've been painted as out of touch and not the mainstream. We must ignore all of that and drive for the prize. Speak to your friends and help reinvigorate them. Pull your local groups back together and be the firebrand that rekindles the fire in the minds of men. Now is the time for our leader-less movement to provide counterpoise to their supposed leader-less movement. It is time again to march and be oh so joyfully inconvenient for the left so that this country can reawaken from the socialist nightmare we've been living for the last three years.

So dust off your Gadsdens, re-don you tricorns and remember, Solidarnosc my friends!

The order primaries are held in has been set for quite some time now... I seriously doubt that the racial make up of the constituencies is what decided it. But nice attempt at race baiting anyways! Personally I think the order ought to be changed each go-round. I'm tired of carefully seeking out a candidate only to have them removed from the running before I have a say in who should get the nod, let's face it political campaigns are a game of momentum and usually by the time the ability to vote comes around to me it's just a proforma vote.

It spurs investment into companies that provide employment... employment for those who don't qualify for that rate and who otherwise would have no income. -AND- 2. It provides an incentive for people who don't receive it, to want to receive it and to do what is necessary to arrive at that place where they can receive it. Success is hard work and if there's no incentive to succeed people will simply languish in mediocrity forever.

Article: The real reason no one impersonates dead voters: high risk, little benefit

Let's assume for a moment the premise that there is virtually no voter fraud... (not that I do, but let's do so for the purpose of a mental exercise). It is conceivable that there *could be* voter fraud. This conceivability of an offense is enough in many cases to enact laws that liberals support. Let's take gun control laws for example. To be more specific, let's take the "cool down" period that many anti-gun people advocate. The sole reason for this law to exist is based on the premise that a gun buyer may be purchasing a weapon to use in a crime of passion. If you look at the entirety of gun purchasers, what percentage of them might fit that description? The percentiles are certainly absolutely, infinitesimally small and yet this is a gun control law that many liberals favor and is in fact espoused very heavily by the Brady gang (it's one factor from their grading system for state's gun control laws). So certainly the conceivability that an offense could occur is a good enough premise upon which to base a law for liberals. That leads one to question why they are against its employment in the case of voter fraud prevention laws. Since there are, as we speak a number of Democrat politicians freshly convicted of voter fraud in New York state, I can only assume that they are concerned about closing this "gun show loophole" in their ability to steal elections.

Criminality rates among active duty service members and veterans is LOWER than the population at large. Suicide rates are also lower. Stop slandering our heroes!

Here is yet another article employing the same underhanded tactic where the statistics are not compared to the population at large. If you read the article you'll see: "Mr. Panetta emphasized that 'we assume this is a very underreported crime'". Why would we "assume" that? Further what is the point of this unending bombardment of the character of our troops? Last year according to this article, there were 3,191 "reports" of sexual assault (a very broad category). Not convictions mind you, just accusations. There are 1,466,545 Active duty personnel and 1,458,500 reserve personnel yielding a total of 2,925,045. So that means there are 109 reports (not convictions) per 100,000. Per the government crime statistics the nationwide average per 100,000 for convictions of "forcible rape" (the most serious of sexual assault offenses) in 2009 (the latest available statistics) stand at 158. The rate of this happening is therefore LOWER in the military than in the population at large. I wonder how the number of rapes in the military compares to the rate per 100,000 at Occupy encampments. Stop the assault on the honor of our heroes!

So wait... "Not quite as hot"... That means it's cooler then right? Look, this global warming scam is not science. If our greenhouse gas contributions contributed to atmospheric warming it would have to exhibit a never ending trend of increases in temperature. That is because our output of those gases has not decreased, nor has the atmospheric concentrations of those gases. You see a key factor in determining whether a theory is scientifically valid is that a hypothesis must be "predictive". (for those who don't know what I'm talking about, look up "the scientific method".) That means if you can make a prediction based upon the premise of your hypothesis that is then found to be true based upon the objective measurement of the results of experimentation, then your hypothesis can be assumed to be scientifically valid. The global warming hypothesis however offers no such predictive quality and therefore, despite being quite a popular hypothesis (because we all know science is based on popularity contests right?), must be found to be flawed. Once you can show me an undeniable predictive quality to your hypotheses, then I'll join the band wagon, but not before.

This article then goes on to attempt to blame the unforeseen decline in temperature on the La Niña/El Niño cycle... If greenhouse gas concentrations were truly the cause it should be a simple matter of certain concentrations equating to a certain number of degrees increase averaged across the globe. The La Niña/El Niño cycle has nothing to do with it since the sun presumably delivers a fixed amount of energy to be trapped by those gasses.

We are now in the midst of the primary season. Mitt Romney has won Iowa by 8 votes. He's won New Hampshire by the margins that we expected. South Carolina has not voted yet. The conservative wing of the Republican party has flirted with one candidate after another. This flirtation can be witnessed even on this very blog. The mainstream media is force feeding us the "inevitability" of a Romney nomination. Santorum, Gingrich and Perry continue to split the votes of the conservative wing of the party, preventing any one of them from garnering the upper hand and unseating that Romney inevitability. Ron Paul and his wack-a-doodle pack... well they are running about being their wack-a-doodle selves, as is to be anticipated.

We need to get our ducks in a row. We need to reduce our candidate pool and settle on a non-Romney candidate... I propose Rick Santorum and here is why.

Newt Gingrich was a very appealing candidate for a while. Many of us even seriously considered him as an option prior to the Iowa caucuses... Romney however harpooned that surge by sicking his super P.A.C. on Gingrich. Was that fair? Probably not. But it happened. How has Mr. Gingrich reacted? Like a bull in a china shop, like a petulant child pouting and throwing a temper tantrum. He's fed ammunition to our enemies, attacking Romney (who may despite our best efforts, be the only one left to de-seat Obama) with patently liberal attacks. His use of these attacks will be pointed at as validation of them when they are levied by Obama against Romney. No my friends, Newt must go.

Rick Perry has also engaged in these same attacks. Having lived in Texas under his governorship, I too thought him a valid candidate when he first joined the fray. He has however shown himself to be a lack-luster candidate on the campaign trail. I'm sorry governor, you too must go.

My friends we must convince these gentlemen to abandon their candidacies and to persuade their supporters to fall in line behind the only viable non-Romney candidate left, Rick Santorum.

I know, I know even Santorum has his issues. There is no perfect hallelujah candidate in this race. I too hoped that some dynamic figure that made perfect sense would arrive on the scene and declare his intentions. That however did not happen. Santorum is the best we have.

We need to use care that we not squander this chance to free our nation from the predations of Obama. I personally would vote for Barney the stupid purple dinosaur if he were the alternative candidate to Obama. Yes that also extends to Romney or even (god forbid) Ron Paul. We can not allow ourselves to burn all of the bridges on the way to the general election. We can not allow our possible candidates to be so damaged in the primary process, that they are then nonviable when facing Obama. BUT, we must do all we can do to ensure that we arrive with the best possible candidate. I propose Senator Santorum.

I always hear about the so called "moral high ground"... I can understand behaving better than our enemies... My question is, why it is always some self-righteous prick (usually some brain-dead libtard who is far too effete to ever serve themselves) dictating (usually with that signature annoying liberal nasal whine) how much higher our moral high ground has to be? (It looks like Yahoo found the rare libtard veteran for this so called "article").

Isn't it good enough to be on slightly higher moral high ground or significantly higher moral high ground? Why does it always have to be nothing less than the very pinnacle of virtue that is expected from our troops?

Taking a leak on a corpse is a FAR milder offense than what the enemy does to our dead; FAR MILDER! ( Example 1, Example 2, Example 3, Example 4, etc...)

Put yourself in these guys' combat boots for a change... How would you react if you finally killed some prick that has been trying to kill you; someone who more than likely has taken the life of or maimed a comrade or comrades?

Air Force 1 will be spooled up for countless costly trips around the country for even more countless telepromptered speeches about how wonderful Obama is for doing this and how terrible those Republicans are for resisting it.

Give me a break! No additional power for Obama of any kind!

The has been an abundance of stories for some time now where the media has felt strangely compelled to trumpet a criminal's veteran status in the headlines. For example there was a shooting in Washington state of a park ranger, then there was a shooting in Utah revolving around a botched SWAT home invasion. In both cases, the suspect happened to be a veteran and in both cases that fact found its way into the headlines about the story. Just a cursory look at the news found many more instances as well. It is interesting that the media does not feel a need to publish the fact that a criminal is an illegal immigrant or even a welfare recipient in their headlines but veteran status is somehow extremely compelling.

It is my belief that this is a concerted effort by the liberal media to discredit our veterans. The problem is, even Fox News has fallen into this trap. Study after study has concluded that our veterans are far less likely than the population at large to engage in criminal behavior, yet the media is trying to build this false impression that every veteran is a ticking time bomb. This is further evidenced by Janet Napolitano's assertion that veterans are potential domestic terrorists. The funny thing is I'd probably bet you everything I own, that those who are illegal immigrants or welfare recipients are far more likely to engage in criminal behavior than our veterans.

I ask all of you to help bring attention to this topic. Send letters to the editors of news organizations that participate in this injustice to our veterans and demand that they stop!

I feel that I must once more speak up. I know I've promised that my writing on this blog would be more prolific. I've tried, honestly I have. Life is what life is... All consuming and overbearing and for that I make no apologies.

I, like you, have been intently watching the wind up to the 2012 election. My favor has meandered like most Republicans' from one candidate to another. First it was Trump, but we all know how that ended up. Then I hitched my hopes onto Michelle Bachmann only to have her lose her sheen when Rick Perry joined the race. Then it turned out that he was incapable of stringing two sentences together in a sentient fashion in a debate. Then my admiration came to rest on Herman Cain.

The more I looked at the man the more I began to appreciate his qualities. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely HATE the idea of a national sales tax, but I harbor no illusions that he could EVER get such a thing through the muck and mire that is our congress. I was intrigued when he first announced his candidacy but didn't know enough to fully appreciate his qualifcations. But as time has passed I've found him to be adequately able in the limelight of a debate, yet you can tell that the man doesn't mince words. He's plain spoken and that for me is FAR more attractive to the polished platitudes of a professional ~~liar~~ politician.

He is not a part of the professional political machine. He's a businessman. He ran a pizza restaurant for crying out loud. His ascendance to the top of the Republican pack has the establishment worried and baffled. Isn't it interesting how they troop out on both sides of the political spectrum to nay-say his chances. Whether it's that vacuous baboon Bobby Gibbs or the ever pedantic Karl Rove it doesn't matter, their derision is palpable.

"This upstart has no chance," they all pontificate, wagging their fingers and trying their best to sound wise...

Yet his lead persists despite their best efforts to derail it. So what do they do? They roll out the ever predictable smear campaign. They know that we, conservatives will react with an primal knee-jerk aversion to claims of moral turpitude. So what do they troop out? A series of women claiming sexual misconduct. How quaint. I didn't see that one coming.

They think we are Pavlov's dogs. They're counting on it. We'll hear the steady drum beat declaring him a monster and turn away from him and head back for the safer, more well-known harbors of the establishment... the same establishment that's driven this country to the verge of extinction. They count on the fact that revelations such as the fact that one of accusers works for the Obama administration, or that one of them lives in the same apartment building as Obama's chief campaign adviser, David Axelrod or that another makes habitual use of litigiousness to further herself will not phase our trained response. Yes, all of these (and I'm sure other revelations yet undisclosed) will not assuage our habituated indignation. We're Pavlov's dogs after all, mere animals... We'll turn away from the only true non-establishment candidate and happily allow them to drive our nation those final few hellish feet to its doom under the steady establishment hand of that superficial Ken doll, Mitt Romney who'll gladly mouth whatever words that he thinks he needs to, to get himself elected.

I pray that we are not so predictable. I hope that we can appreciate the absurd transparency of this tactic. There is no other anti-establishment candidate out there except that trollish imp Ron Paul who thinks "being nice" to Iran will dissuade them procuring and using a nuclear weapon to hasten the appearance of their fictional Imam Mahdi.

The same tactics would never work on the liberals. I mean they happily elected a man whose accusers were able to accurately describe the deformation of his genitals. They don't care about such things, they not the party of diversity as they claim, they're the party of perversity. Even a brief visit to any liberal stronghold will prove that beyond any reasonable shadow of a doubt.

Imagine what would happen if we nominated Herman Cain, a black man, to be our candidate. The liberals have already over-used the appellation "racist" to such an extent that it is now the equivalent of calling a person a "doodie head". How will they react when we call them racists every time they differ with the policies of our minority candidate... Just that alone makes it well worth taking the chance of nominating him. How much worse off can we be? I mean I'd gladly vote for Barney the big dumb purple dinosaur before I'd vote for Obama...

Navy SEALs took out Osama bin Laden Yesterday. Thank You! I can not say that often enough! We all know that Obama will try to take credit for this victory, but this victory is come in spite of and not because of his anemic leadership. Early released details indicate that actionable intelligence was initially gleaned from Kalid Shiek Mohammed's interview. That information was later corroborated during the interview of Abu Farraj al Libbi. This intelligence was then worked by our operatives in the CIA on the ground in Pakistan. Obama of course would have NEVER collected this infromation from these two men and the democrats have also felt free to hold our CIA operatives up to prosecution for doing the unseemly things that at times need to be done to protect us.

It was also reported that bin Laden's body was disposed of at sea to prevent any shrine from being built for him. I hope they stuffed every orifice with bacon before they tossed his worthless carcass overboard!

Now ol' Zawahiri and the traitor Gadahn better be some ducking and runnin' mo' fo's because pretty soon you're going to look like your boss!

As the news has slowly spooled out regarding bin Laden's death there are some interesting tidbits to share. True to form the anointed one is storming about claiming this as his great victory and vindication for his administration. How convenient that is, considering that he's been taking one hell of a shellacking in the opinion polls lately. Well, there are a few details that he is of course NOT heralding from the roof tops.

Remember how terrible the democrats find all those "secret CIA prisons abroad"? The intelligence that broke bin Laden's location was collected there.

Remember how terrible they find water boarding? The intelligence was extracted using that technique. Beyond that, the information that corroborated it was also collected by these means.

Remember what a terrible intrusion they thought it was to intercept telephone calls placed to terrorists? Well guess what... The courier who exposed bin Laden's location revealed himself during one of those intercepted phone calls.

All of these intelligence collection activities happened BEFORE Obama took office.

None of these things would have been presumably done under the Obama administration. He can honestly only take credit for giving the order to mount the operation and nothing more. A publicity coup fell into his lap in his greatest time of need and he seized it with both hands. That is his only courageous act, an act of selfish self promotion.

To date he's not credited the president who actually presided over the collection of the information. He's not admitted that he may have been wrong about the utility of the practices that brought the leads to light. That would require true character and true courage and we all know he does not possess even the slightest modicum of those traits.

Bin Laden's death is OF COURSE a great boon for the United States. It was a great feat for our intelligence operators fighting in the trenches to protect us. It bear stark testament to the bravery of our troops and it pin points, like a spotlight what an opportunistic leach of a glory hog our current president is. Don't give him and his parasitic followers the satisfaction.

The standard troop of muslim apologists have marched forward to claim that killing bin Laden was improper and that disposing of his worthless carcass at sea was an insult and not in keeping with expected muslim burial practices. They threatened that these facts will inspire more of their insane fellow muslims to participate in the jihad... Well guess what, no matter what we do, you freaks find it a reason to hate and kill us... BUT we will find a way to get you, even in spite of the protection of nations like Pakistan and in spite of any inept leadership that happens to sit in our oval office. We will be avenged and you will suffer bin Laden's fate.

A Correction

It appears I have spoken out of turn. Jan Brewer did not sign a bill into law requiring presidential candidates to present proof of eligibility to be placed on the ballot in Arizona. (More's the pity.) There are however more than enough votes in the legislature to overturn a gubernatorial veto. So we shall see if the Arizona legislature shoots down Jan's veto. Let's hope. I think this is a wonderful idea. If Arizona doesn't end up passing the law, perhaps one of the other states that are contrary to Obama will... Montana Utah or Texas perhaps. Even better would be if a series of states would pass such a law.

Now let me be clear. I do not think that Obama was born outside of the USA -BUT- I do believe there is something on his birth certificate that he wishes to hide... Perhaps his mother named a different father or something. There has to be some reason why a man would spend so much money and effort hiding the document. It will present him with a dilemma... "Do I give up and release the secret I've been hiding or do I fore go those electoral votes?"

Any and EVERY opportunity to complicate his reelection campaign should be exploited. You know he would never give up any opportunity to exploit the weaknesses of his foes. Why then should we be any more magnanimous than he? McCain made that mistake. He tried to take the honorable route without even a figment of reciprocity on Obama's side and you see where that got us don't you?

On a side note... turns out the FEC is still investigating wrong-doing and fund raising in Obama's 2008 presidential campaign. Turns out he's spent more than double the amount in legal fees since his election than he did during the entire campaign. This is something I'm still trying to find more information on though. Reawakening

Many voices, mine included have fallen silent from weariness and disillusionment during this long dark winter of the current president's rule. Perhaps we rose briefly during the 2010 elections when we saw that there was some hope of staving off the total destruction of our nation and way of life. The time however, is now my friends to speak again and raise your voices in a concert of discontent!

Life has taken me away from writing frequently on this blog, but I feel a need again to write. I believe that in years past many of us spoke and that low volume, but constant dull roar helped seat and then re-seat George W. Bush in the Whitehouse. It is for that reason that I feel we must again become involved, raise our chorused voices and help some worthy candidate to unseat Barack Obama.

The fight is yet young. 2012 is not even here yet. But! We must become involved. We must speak and strive. We must because if we do not, our nation is likely to never recover.

Gasoline is now pushing $4.00 a gallon again. The last time that happened the discontented roar that came out of the mainstream media was deafening. This time... The crickets are deafening. The difference you see is that the current president desires high energy prices. He desires it as a means to enact his radical environmental agenda. This administration banned deep water oil drilling in our waters while sending billions to Brazil to fund their deep water oil drilling.

Our nation's deficits are stifling our economy and swamping our future. Forty cents out of every dollar that the government takes in is spent servicing our national debt. Imagine all of the things we could do with 40% more liquid money in our national budget. If president Obama's past actions are any indication of future performance our national debt will soar to 19 - 20 trillion dollars by the time he leaves a second term.

Our troops are over seas. Now fighting three wars. This in spite of being saddled with rules of engagement that deny them the ability to preemptively defend themselves. What does that mean? If a group of soldiers is being surrounded by a group of armed men, they may not act aggressively to prevent the encirclement until the enemy actually fires at them, and then they may only fire at those who are firing at them. Snipers set up with impunity and aim at our troops, knowing full well that they may not be engaged until they have actually fired their first shot.

Meanwhile a bloody war is being fought directly across our Southern border and violence is spilling over into this nation. This war is financed by the liberal American drug culture and illegally armed by our own administration. Weapons our government sold to drug cartels have been implicated in the deaths of our own law enforcement officials. The provision of these weapons was an underhanded scheme intended to provide a means to infringe upon the second amendment rights of law abiding gun owners across this nation.

Inflation is on the rise and we're teetering on the edge of super-inflation. The only thing that prevents us from seeing the true effect of the inflation we're experiencing is the fact that the Fed pulls those things from the calculations that would produce an undesired result... things like energy and food. The Federal Reserve is printing monopoly money, driving the value of the dollar lower and lower in comparison other currencies. Manufacturing jobs are bleeding overseas at an accelerated rate. As a result our markets are flooded with substandard imported goods draining wealth from here back to the countries where they are manufactured. How often have you heard of cheap Chinese products being recalled because of high lead content or other such deficiencies? Unemployment is still at record levels. The economy they tell us is growing yet all of us know that that growth; if indeed it does exist, exists in spite of not because of the government's programs. 800 billion dollars were thrown who knows where with the promise that the wave unemployment would be held to 8% and that millions of jobs would be created. We now know that neither promise was true.

Our international clout is vastly diminished. No one takes us seriously any more. NATO is leading our troops in Libya. We react to one uprising against a minor tyrant but quite puzzlingly leave the uprisings against other tyrants; those we really need removed, absolutely at the mercy of their blood thirsty rulers.

Our nation's health system is in absolute crisis. I can say this with authority as I am involved in the health industry. It is struggling to deal with the unconstitutional constraints that will inevitably hamstring efforts to provide care. Government bureaucracies will tell your doctor what treatments he or she must use. These dictated treatment regimens will remove any discretion your physician may have into your condition. Not everyone responds the same to the same treatment. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances that will require the physician to actually have to fight the system to provide you with the personalized care that you will need.

The government is subsidizing one corrupt organization after another to subvert our national sentiments and erode the integrity of our election process. How often does ACORN have to be discredited and indicted for voter fraud before we stop feeding them our tax dollars?

I can continuing pointing out the myriad dilemmas that face us. But I'm no doubt simply restating the obvious.

We need to rise up now and we need to do it because we need a candidate. A REAL candidate. I'm tired of pinching my nose and voting for one simpering semi-conservative after another. We need a candidate we can get behind. Someone who speaks plainly not in never-ending carefully woven platitudes. We are the people who help form the opinions of our peers. We are now equipped with our Tea Party momentum, an existing grassroots organization that can help sweep a suitable candidate to power.

At the moment I'm rather enamored with the idea of a Trump candidacy. Can you imagine the press conferences? How confused would they be to receive an answer as simple as "yes" or "no". They'd be over in record time. It'd be really sweet if he picked someone equally effective as his running mate. How about someone like Joe Arpaio?! That would be a ticket I could vote for with GUSTO my friends. Could you imagine the heart palpitations such a ticket would induce in our namby pamby liberal population? It would be like pure armageddon! I can imagine the effete, annoying nasal whines already!

Does Trump bring baggage with him? Sure, but he knows how to pull a ship headed for the waters of bankruptcy back on course and that is exactly what we need. The liberals are already frothing all over themselves because he's deigned to mention the fact that Obama has spent millions to prevent the release of his real birth certificate. On a related and interesting note, Arizona's Jan Brewer has signed a law requiring any candidate to prove his eligibility for president before his name can be placed on the ballot in Arizona! Way to go Jan!

Am I stuck on Trump? No just at this early juncture he's the one man I can get behind. Mitt Romney... Um puhlease... Ever hear of Romneycare? Pawlenty? Who? Huckabee? I truly like the man, but he's too nice to run the bare knuckled kind of campaign that is going to need to be run to succeed this go 'round. Ron Paul? LOL! Are you serious? You know the dude's a gynecologist... So tell me ladies, could you ever picture yourself letting that creepy troll face peek at your hoo-hah? Besides, his policies are impractical and untenable and his white-supremacist, poll spamming followers just put a cap on it. So that pretty much leaves Trump.

At any rate, I hope to be more active on this blog and to do my part to contribute to the national debate that we will be having approaching the 2012 elections.

The Egyptian Crisis - A Question of Morals

There's been a lot of coverage on the news lately about the uprisings throughout the Middle East, most especially in Egypt . Many of the commentators have been making doomsday prognostications of a repeat of the Iranian revolution, claiming that the Muslim Brotherhood may rise to power in the turmoil. I've also heard many making excuses for America 's support of Mubarik saying things like, "better to support a dictator than to have chaos".

Let me make myself absolutely clear. America has a clearly stated set of over-arching collective morals. Our forefathers proclaimed those morals loudly and boldly to the whole world saying:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

This statement put for the first time to pen something that every person has always known instinctually in their inner core. This incontrovertible truth must be our answer in every such foreign policy case. To see success, we must be true to our core beliefs and live that bold and unprecedented truth to its fullest.

All too often we've side-stepped these principles and paid the grim price. We've supported one despot after another out of expedience. We've allowed an enemy of our enemy to be our friend. We must never do that again. A deal with a devil inevitably and invariably ends up costing you your soul. We have paid that dire price far too frequently. Those who wish to harm this country from within have often used this sort of expedient relationship to point out how base and evil America is. We are indeed imperfect and must learn finally and at long last from the error or our ways.

America must always stand on the side of liberty. Expedient deals with dictators may get you what you want in the short term. It may prevent a war now that would make your political waters perilous, but to avoid the short-sighted mistakes of the past our stance should always be that self determination is the inalienable right of all men.

Sure, the people may choose poor leaders (Heck even we have elected our current disastrous president). Some time ago, a frequent critic of mine cynically pointed out the results of the election in the Gaza strip where Hamas came to power as an example of how my belief was flawed. These things do happen, but we must support the will of the people and fight to preserve their right to choose. We must do this because while the fervor of the moment may lead the masses to a poor choice, inevitably free men will choose peace. So if they elect a dictator, we must oppose the ability of that elected dictator to prevent being removed when the people change their minds. Our only response to such an unpropitious choice in leadership is to insist on preserving their freedom to choose more appropriate leadership once they have tired of the predations of the thugs they've chosen and to isolate those governments we disagree with to hasten the people's reawakening.

Modern progressive liberals see this as their core conundrum. They despise the fact that men are fallible and believe that an all-powerful government is the only way to dispense with the fallibility of man and thus protect us from ourselves. They strive to create perfection with more regulation and ever more complicated and convoluted laws intended to address every odd edge case. But that government too is a fallible construct of fallible men. Chasing perfection is a fool's errand. Instead I choose to believe that the majority of men long for peace, seek justice and are innately good and with that in mind, I cast my wholehearted support behind the notion that the fallibilities of man will come and go and that they are always best countered by allowing free men to learn from the errors of their ways.

I've heard many from the left say that we can not "impose" freedom on a place. In response to that I am going to say something that I do not often say. That stance is utterly and absolutely un-American. It flies in the face of that preeminent foundational statement of our collective morals made so many years ago. The words expressed are not that "All white men are created equal" or "All men in this country" or even "All men in this hemisphere". It states that unequivocally ALL men, wherever they may happen to exist, are created to be equals and that they have at the center of their being a right to liberty and self determination. If you seek peace, then we must strive to introduce freedom in every land and have a responsibility to impose the will of the people over every despot that constrains freedom. For only when all men are truly free will we as a species experience lasting and durable peace.

I ended up fixating on some quotes from our founding fathers and marveling not only at their wisdom, but also in the prescience of these quotes when protracted in the light of current events.

Wisdom is immutable, so I thought I'd share a few gems that I found.

Thomas Jefferson

Really? I thought it established the right of the states to have a National Guard... How interesting also that the National Guard can now be co-opted by the federal government against their will and against the will of the state governor. That little jewel was buried in the thousands of pages of the Obama-care law... When starts the press gangs I wonder.

What Now?

237 years ago, Bostonians boarded three ships in Boston harbor and tossed 342 chests of tea into water. They didn't do so because of any animus for tea. In fact, they like most British subjects enjoyed their tea. They did it as a demonstration of righteous indignation over taxation without representation. It was one of the first acts that led invariably through a chain of fateful events. That chain stretched through years of war and deprivation that eventually saw triumph and the creation of a government of the people, by the people and for the people.

Some time ago I made a post about a quote of mine that is posted in the right margin of my blog:

"While it is true that a government rules only by the consent of the governed. Too many of us have not considered that silence might easily be construed to be consent."

My words in that post have been heeded. We have made our voices heard. We jammed the phone lines in the capital. We've firmly spoken our minds at town-hall meetings. We marched on Washington. We sent letters and e-mails to our congressmen. We have done everything to make our lack of consent abundantly clear. We know they've heard us.

I heard one senator explain that "sometimes you have to vote your conscience" (as if any of them could even conceive of such a thing).

Excuse me, but that is not your job. We don't pay you to have your own thoughts. We pay you to voice OUR thoughts you deluded egomaniac! Your conceited voice is absolutely irrelevant. Your voice reflects just one opinion among the hundreds of thousands that you were hired to represent. Who the hell do you think you are?

There is no more consent. There is just taxation WITHOUT representation... and this time they aren't taxing a damned beverage. This time it is your very life and limb! You, congress, have crossed a crucial line. Do not be surprised by our vivid, righteous anger!

There are efforts to sue based on the unconstitutionality of the law. I'm afraid that won't go too far. There are states passing Constitutional amendments or laws exempting their citizens from the compelled compliance. I'm afraid that too will be fraught with failure. If federal law countermands a state's constitution their only recourse is secession and we've played that gem of a game before. We all know the end of that story.

No one, me included wants to replay the bloody events surrounding the birth of this nation, but it is high time for the citizens to take our nation back from the hands of the greedy professional politicos. They insist that their power is greater than ours. It is not. They have ignored us, let's ensure they pay the price. We still hold the power of our vote. Let's exercise it before that too is taken and we are left with no other options. Mark my words, a comprehensive immigration reform bill, featuring an amnesty for all illegal aliens (i.e ringer voters) will be the next thing forced through the congress.

It is time now for a Constitutional amendment limiting the terms that ALL politicians may serve. There are two Constitutional routes to amend the Constitution. The first is the only one that has thus far been used. That is for a bill to pass both houses of congress with a two-thirds majority. Clearly that certainly will NEVER happen as these power grubbing bastards will NEVER loose the reins of power.

So that means we must pursue the second Constitutional method of revising the Constitution... Two-thirds of the state legislatures must call for a Constitutional Convention to be convened. (that's 34 states BTW for those of us who know how many states there are). This convention would then need to propose amendments and those amendments would need to be adopted by the state legislatures of three-fourths of the states (38 states). If our national representatives will not hear the voices of their constituents, then how about our local ones... Let's rattle their doors off the hinges before it's too late! Let's hope that they still have an ear unhardened to their people's voice.

Oh and while we're at it... how about a Constitutional fix to the question of illegal aliens and anchor babies?

My Proposal

I think that the up coming election cycles will be VERY interesting. In order to affect the affirmative changes we require, I think that us Tea Party folks should require an affirmative response to up hold and espouse the following items from each and every candidate we support:

Term Limits - It is time that we eliminate "politician" from the pool of potential professions to which one can aspire. Our founding fathers never intended political service to be one's life's work. There should be a two term limit to all federal elected offices and a 16 year lifetime maximum for service in any combination of political offices in any venue.

Federal Referendum for Tax Increases - Congress has had unfettered access to our wallets for far too long. Tax referendums have been popular and approved in many states. It is time for a federal version of such a referendum.

Balanced Budget Requirement - I must balance my budget. It is time for the fed to do the same.

Reaffirmation of the 2nd Amendment - There has been a very long streak of progressives in government infringing upon the rights of the people to keep and bear arms. It is high time to right those wrongs and reverse that trend. Any Tea Party supported candidate should pursue a full repeal of ALL federal gun laws and the abolition of the BATF's tyranny over their fellow countrymen.

Abolition of Obamacare - Should the dems manage to ram Obamacare through the Congress we need our candidates to dedicate themselves to abolishing this abomination.

Government Motors No More - A bill must be passed abolishing the government's control of private businesses and subsidies to them. Further a law must be passed to prevent any further attempts to do such things again. There is no such thing as a business that is too big to fail.

Across the Board Tax Relief - As long as Uncle Sam is thieving from our pockets we will not have the means to bail ourselves out of the economic mess the government has put us in. Therefore, substantial tax relief must take a front seat even to reducing the deficit and balancing the budget. Besides, it's been proven that reducing tax levels increases government receipts.

Spending Cuts - Trust me, we can do without a LOT of the pork barrel things that the government is paying for. End them. Stop paying UN dues. End foreign aid. Until we have our own house in order, why do we need to worry about other folks' houses? No more turtle tunnels.

Border Enforcement - It is time that we end the flood of illegal aliens flowing into our country. Give the border patrol everything they need to patrol and protect our borders. All illegal aliens should be sent home every time they are caught. Employers who hire them should be punished and suffer the steep consequences.

The Surrender Monkies Strike Again

We all know that president Obama's favorite hobby is surrendering the hard-won victories of others.

He was all set to sacrifice the hard won victory in Iraq, but our brave troops have done so well that that would be extremely hard for the public to swallow. He'd have to actually march troops in to un-do that which has been achieved.

So that surrender was thwarted. He must have called Pelosi & Ried into the Oval Office to have a serious pity party and tie one on over that one.

The spin doctors decided they could recycle this defeat into a victory for him by instead stealing the credit for delivering victory. Quite telling that they like to blame everything bad on Bush and steal the credit for the good. These are truly not honorable men.

Well then the next opportunity to surrender raised its head... Afghanistan.

That however was one of the first true but unrecognized victories for the resurgent conservative majority. Sure, around that time we were fully engaged in the fray against the health care take-over, but the pollsters certainly warned him of the grave consequences that laid in wait if he surrendered Afghanistan.

I'm certain that he wouldn't have allowed any of his many campaign promises regarding Afghanistan to dissuade him from tasting the sweet taste of surrender there. I mean I firmly believe this president has abandoned more campaign promises (a.k.a. "LIED") than any other president before him. The litany of broken promises is long and sordid.

Instead, he was forced to do a stealth surrender in Afghanistan and just announced that we will flee victory with our tails tucked on some future specified date.

This had to have been very difficult for him to bear. Certainly experiencing all of this surrender monkey impotence must have been quite exasperating. I can imagine him retiring to the first family's quarters to have Michelle don her hulking dominatrix garb then bind and flog him to hamburger while belittling him for being such a dismal impotent little failure.

He had to find somewhere where he could experience the joy of an outright surrender of a hard won victory. It was then that he found one. He decided to hand off our preeminence in manned space travel.

If he truly believes all of the "global climate change" hokum, he must see the necessity for manned space missions. He must understand the need for mankind to expand our environment beyond this little ball of mud. Surely, we must have a lifeboat population on some other world to survive the doomsday climate apocalypse (oh god please let there be zombies!). I mean the whole "It's too late to change our inevitable demise" nature of this premise necessitates such a safety mechanism.

Personally I don't believe in global warming but I do believe in the very real possibility of a devastating extraterrestrial object impact.

In Obama's mind, the survival of mankind is obviously going to have to take a back seat to turtle tunnels in Florida and studying why gay men in Latin America tend to have unsafe sex when they are drunk. His "logic" (and I use that term loosely in his case) behind this decision was based strictly on finances. We need more money for liberal clap trap pork and less for REAL science. See that's why I use the term "logic" loosely.

It is one of the favorite progressive past-times, making valiant deaths of others all for naught...

The liberals in congress aren't just content to impede the CIA's ability to collect intelligence by properly interrogating terrorists. Now they are going after the FBI for listening in to terrorists' conversations. I mean god forbid that we infringe on terrorists' expectation of privacy while they're plotting the murder of American citizens.

Somehow I think if the target were conservative American patriots the libs would have no problem with how intelligence was collected. Harsh interrogation and warrant-less wiretaps would suddenly be back on the table.

Finally, I have a series of two articles (here's the first and second article) regarding the shoddy job the UN is doing attempting to prove the effects of the supposed "global warming" crisis. Turns out that the retreat of the glaciers isn't happening like they say it is. I have already pointed out that there is NO science behind the global warming contentions. This continues to prove that fact How much longer will our tax money be spent to further this fraud?

The Afghan Plan

So last night Obama rolled out his new plan for Afghanistan. Paraphrased it was, "We're going to send a bunch more of you military types over there to die before we surrender." Obama was also very careful to not give his handpicked General the number of troops he asked for. I mean god forbid that it look like he was bowing to the military. He saves that for foreign royalty. Well royalty and the far left of his party that is.

You know nothing surprises me any more. At some point last week, someone breached the servers at Britain's Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia and released about a thousand incriminating archived e-mails between a virtual who's who in the global warming community. The authenticity of these e-mails has been corroborated and definitively proves that global warming is an unmitigated hoax. The e-mails provide documentation of a long litany of data altered to match desired results, forged data, changed dates, out right lies, obfuscation and attempts to lead skeptics astray.

Ladies and gentlemen this is a world governed by fads. Society demands so much effort and expense from each of us to slavishly follow the latest fad the comes down the pipe. Now, all of us are supposed to have our IPods. God forbid we should walk down the street without a Starbucks cup in our hand. We are all supposed to be good little herd creatures slavishly treading the worn trail with our nose pressed under the tail of the beast ahead of us. More and more those of us who refuse to slavishly toe the line are unjustly ridiculed and ostracized. We are supposed to embrace diversity and yet it is only the diversity of pet protected classes that matters. True diversity, diversity of thought and belief is shunned.

I have long said that science does not occur by consensus. Science occurs by the scientific method. Now I am vindicated.

We are now expected to follow this global warming fad and it is a fad because its numbers, facts and figures are utter fictitious offal! Our congress is looking at bankrupting each and every home with a cap and trade bill based upon this vaporous foundation. Our president will soon meet in Europe to obligate us to a treaty that will strip us of our preeminent position in the global community. All of it based on nothing but lies. You won't see these leaked e-mails divulged anywhere on the mass media because they are a complicit tool in the deceit.

What is it all about? Why is so much emphasis placed on conformity? Greed for power, plain and simple. The so called "progressives" have no real lust for the progress of mankind. The only progress they seek is the progression of their power into a monopoly.

Imagine the true progress that could be made were we unencumbered with the need to tend the liberal's lust for power and chase our tails slavishly following their herd fad tactics. Imagine how many starving people we could feed and how many illnesses could be healed. It isn't they who do those things you know. For example, it's not the liberals who care for the masses suffering from AIDS and starvation in Africa. Go have a look and you'll find thousands of religious missionaries out there doing the work. You'll find that George W. Bush sent more money there to ameliorate suffering than any liberal ever has.

Ask yourself this... How much money could be contributed toward "universal health coverage" if it weren't squandered paying for studies in global warming that isn't occurring or salaries for people who claim to be scientists, but clearly aren't?

The deceitfulness of this recent revelation lays all of this bare and the fact that they will ignore it and simply attempt to continue as if it hadn't ever occurred proves their dishonesty.

We've handed the Huns the keys to gates.

Phil Jones, head of the climate change program at East Anglia has resigned in shame due to the revelation of this scandal. The more people start looking into things the more clear it is that Jones and his colleagues have been "cooking the books", massaging figures in order to support a preordained conclusion. This man and this institution is supposed to be teaching our youth the scientific method, what hope do we as a race have of truly furthering scientific knowledge if the ones who are supposed to teach the youth do not understand the very basic foundations of that which they aspire to teach. What these people are practicing is not science and never will be. It is a belief in a religion... a self fulfilling prophecy. It is much like the Catholic Church's insistence that Galileo recant his belief in a sun centered solar system. Despite the scientific proofs, let the "climate change" inquisitions begin!

The Peaceful Religion Strikes Again

The news is still evolving, but it appears that an Army Major, one Nidal Malik Hassan murdered 11 and wounded 31 others at Fort Hood. Early reports indicate that Hassan had advocated Muslims rising up to kill American soldiers. This man was a psychiatrist who had been assigned to care for soldiers returning from combat who suffered from PTSD or addictions. Now I have to ask, what genius allowed that?

Questions still remain. It was reported that the murderer was armed with two 9mm handguns. Anyone who knows firearms knows that causing death or injury to 42 persons with two 9mm handguns would take quite a bit of effort. It is not something that an Army doctor is normally trained to do. Army doctors are not combat troops, They are not trained to engage in combat operations. How were so many injured or killed with such meager arms?

Further, it has been reported that Hassan had come to the attention of army officials 6 months ago for internet blog postings that equated muslim suicide bombers with soldiers who throw themselves on hand grenades to save their comrades.

Hassan was shot dead by a security contractor, ending his murder spree. The officer was also mortally wounded in the exchange.

I hope this pig died a long slow painful death.

I rose this morning, fully steeled to commemorate the passing of another 9/11. Going about my morning as I usually do, I rolled out of bed, rubbed the grit from my eyes and then switched on the television in the bedroom to the news channel. That is what I do every morning, listen to the news as I prepare for my day.

This morning however, I was struck with an unexplained melancholy, a wistful inexplicable ache. For me there was something I couldn't put my finger on... Something more amiss than on previous 9/11's.

I resolved to find and wear my traditional "Remember 9/11" lapel pin as I pondered what was effecting me so oddly.

Then I sat transfixed as Barack Obama's commemorative address at the Pentagon issued from the television. His words meandered and danced artfully around issues and possible phrasings that might offend one group or another. The sentences seemed hours long, intricate and complex; a woven tapestry of platitudes and side steps with a very sparse smattering of periods.

It was then that the difference hit me square in the face. This is the first commemoration of 9/11 that has not been presided over by George W. Bush. It just felt odd.

I hope that all but the most partisan can lay down the criticisms for a moment and realize that in this moment eight years ago, President Bush became the most popular president in American history. When he surmounted that mound of rubble at ground zero and resolutely pronounced, "I hear you, the rest of the world hears you and the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon"; his approval rating skyrocketed to levels that no other president in history ever enjoyed. Sure, he did a lot of things that some disagree with. (He even did things that I disagree with!) But in this moment, eight years ago, he was the man that unified the resolve of this nation and voiced our collective sorrow and rage.

I have to admit to getting teary eyed at the realization. President Obama's lack-luster speech somehow lacked George's simple steely resolve. That is another thing that all but the most partisan must admit. You never had any doubt in your mind that when he spoke, he was speaking from his heart and truly meant what he said. He may not have followed through. He may not have been expressing sentiments that you shared, but GWB was a man who said what he meant and meant what he said. There wasn't room for flowery rhetoric and relying on a teleprompter, like his successor might have saved him from more than a few fumbled words or phrases... but everyone knew the man believed in what he was saying. I miss that.

My wife tearfully interrupted my work preparations on several occasions this morning. I think she was feeling it too.

President Obama never mentioned the word terrorism in his speech, but renewed his commitment to pursue Al Quaeda. I remembered hearing the words of Master Sergeant Bernard, the father of the fallen hero Lance Corporal Joshua Bernand. He criticized the irrational R.o.E. (Rules of Engagement) the President had saddled his son with, and blamed them for his son's untimely demise. I have to wonder if the president is going to combat Al Quaeda by embedding those same artfully crafted platitudes, intended to offend no one into the rules of engagement thus tying the hands of our valiant troops abroad.

In the end, many things have remained unchanged since Obama took the oval office. P.O.W.'s are still housed at Guantanamo Bay. Al Quaeda still lurks in the seedy underbelly of the trash heaps and dung piles of third world shit holes, plotting acts of atrocity. Our troops are still dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Some things however have changed and drastically so... All those protesters that once feverishly hounded the president for housing P.O.W.'s at Guantanamo and having our troops in Iraq & Afghanistan... They've fallen largely silent. The rules of engagement that recognized the priceless value of the lives of our troops and the inherent right to defend one's self when fired upon... gone in a vaporous spray hero's blood.

As I made my way into the door at work, I resigned myself to the thought that my tiny little lapel pin was probably again, going to be the only outward sign of recognition of the date that I'd see. Then, as I was speaking with a coworker however, I noticed a odd smattering of small battery operated candles dotting the dividers between the cubicles. There was one on the desk of D. (who's pretty much my right hand, utterly indispensable). So I asked her, "What's up with the candles?" "Well Duh!" She replied, "they're for 9/11!" That made my day... Well that and DI's comment to my post, "The Voice of Consent".

The Voice of Consent

Some of you may have noticed that I've added a quote to the side bar:

"While it is true that a government rules only by the consent of the governed. Too many of us have not considered that silence might easily be construed to be consent."

These are my own words. I made the statement over on DI's blog when commenting on the latest post there. I've tweaked it slightly when compared to what I posted there because Haloscan doesn't allow a poster to edit their comments to refine their language and I am a compulsive word tweaker. I added it to the side bar because it impressed me as being a rather deep statement. Not that I'm saying that I am some sort of font of wisdom or anything, but even an idiot can occasionally happen upon a statement of great profundity by accident.

On its face the statement speaks affirmatively about the tumult we have been creating at the townhalls of late. We are making our lack of consent on that topic clearly known and it seems to be working.

I then began to think about the statement and the context in which it was made. DI and Miradena's post was comparing the many similarities of the actions of our current administration to the actions of Adolf Hitler and National Worker's German Socialist Party (NAZIs) when they siezed power in Germany. We have I'm sure, all heard the contention that as soon as you evoke the NAZIs you've lost the debate because it just isn't politically correct to compare someone to Hitler.

Now we have hit upon a far more important meaning for my statement. George Orwell once wisely posited that controlling the use of language is the avenue for controlling the mind.

Political correctness is an insidious device! Look at the out cry over the administration's attempts to control our health industry... We have all raised our voices and then turned surprisedly to realize that we are not the only ones decrying it. We have suddenly discovered the might of our voices when raised in chorus. Political correctness prevents the organization of political opposition. It stifles the chorus of discontent. It does this because it masks the thoughts of masses. How can we know that we all oppose a thing if we are afraid to voice that opposition? Instead we stand there like islands of solitude, afraid that the unacceptability of voicing our inner thoughts will garner us rejection from those around us.

We must not fear voicing our thoughts. If we allow even the hideous thoughts of lunacy to be untremblingly voiced then it makes the vocalization of the valid but hard questions all the more easy. That is the true gift our founding fathers granted us with the first amendment. The ability to stand basked in the naked light of our thoughts. Our forefathers are often described as rugged individualists. They thought what they thought and freely shared those thoughts, regardless how novel or heretical those thoughts may have been. Over the intervening years we have grown fearful of stating even the obvious; "yes, the emperor is indeed naked", and peer pressure is the instrument of our demise. We are but a shadow our outspoken fore-bearers and more's the pity.

While we as conservatives reside in the acceptable silence, our opponents feel no such compunction. The full tenor of the national voice must be heard in order to set the mid-line. How do you define the middle if one side monopolizes the discourse? The carriage of the melody slips to the sopranos when the baritones fall silent and the piece becomes shrill as it is deprived of the fullness of tone. Suddenly we have laws being proposed to ban "hate" speech but "hate" is defined as only that which is objectionable to one side.Allow me to return to the post on DI's blog. The left has felt no impediment to comparing George W. Bush to Hitler. Why then should DI and Miradena be apologetic when comparing Obama to Hitler? The standard argument I have heard is that until the person has murdered millions as Hitler did, that the comparison is ill-advised. But a very wise man once said that those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Should we wait until millions are marched off to the gas chambers before we sound the alarm? That sounds like the standard liberal tactic when dealing with terrorism... Wait until the act occurs, then prosecute the perpetrators rather than acting proactively to prevent the act.

I suppose what I am saying my friends is fearlessly raise your voices. Speak proudly and without timidity. I, at the very least, will not shun you as a thought leper. I may disagree, but I prefer independent minds as they are far less tedious and boring than their cookie cutter alternatives:

If you click the title of this post you will be taken to the news article that served as the impetus for this post. The title of the article reads, "July, August deadliest months of Afghan war for US". Ever since we as a nation rolled into Afghanistan following 9/11 and later in Iraq the liberal masses lined the streets protesting the war. They claimed that they were "supporting the troops".
At the time, I insisted that they did not really care about the troops in the least. I was lambasted by them. They wondered how I could say such a thing. Clearly they cared about the troops because they just wanted to get them out of danger. Where are you now my hypocritical liberal friends? Where are your protests against Obama's inept handling of the war? Our troops are still dying in Iraq and now they are dying in greater numbers than ever before in Afghanistan. Where is your outrage and concern for their welfare now? Where are the poorly crafted facsimiles of Obama being burned in effigy? Why is Cindy Sheehan not camped outside Obama's house in Chicago?

Nowhere! That is where your protests are. I am thus vindicated. You do not care about the troops in the least! Not only that, but I am also vindicated in asserting that you have no idea how to handle troops. Your man's fat fingered efforts to fight "the right war", the one in Afghanistan is proving that. His ineptitude has bathed his hands in the blood of patriots.

The AP wants you to know that no crime occurred today, but one could have. It's been everywhere on the news lately. It appears that there is a trend of people showing up outside town-hall meetings bearing arms. The usual cast of clowns and their complicit dupes in the mass media are over reacting exactly as these protesters are betting they will. So all this outrage with no broken laws, no threats, no carnage... You see, the problem is that the mere sight of a firearm is scary to the left. The fact of the matter is, our nation was founded acknowledging a person's inalienable right to keep and bear arms. They of course spew the normal things they always spew... if a gun looks scary, it must obviously be more dangerous.

As a public service for any of my ill-informed lib readers, let me cue you in to a little piece of truth... an AR15 is not all that powerful. There is a reason why gun aficionados call them "poodle shooters" and it's not because we are cruel bastards that use them to shoot small dogs, but because the 5.56mm round that it shoots is only adequately powerful enough to engage an animal the size of a poodle. Sure, it is based on the same gun that our troops are issued. But you see issuing our troops a "poodle shooter" is another proof of the hatred you, our liberal friends have for the military that defends you. Intentionally sending someone into combat with an inadequate firearm doesn't exactly show love. Oh and one more thing... an AR15 is NOT an assault weapon/rifle you silly poltroons! Calling an AR15 an assualt weapon is just as indicative of ignorance as calling a mouse pad "software" because they're soft.

Now, let me speak common sense to my fellow conservatives and particularly the ones showing up at these events with firearms. We all know you have a god-given right to do this but you and I both know you are doing this especially because you want to evoke a reaction. You also want to express the serious deep seated nature of your disapproval with these displays. You know it will be controversial, that's the point. But as I think of it, the only thing that comes to mind is my mother's oft repeated wisdom:

"You attract more flies with honey than you do with vinegar."

By all means, go to the town halls in droves. Boisterously raise your voices in well reasoned, polite dissent. But, we need to have realistic situational awareness. We will never convince our liberal population of the folly of their ways. They are not the target of our words and deeds. Recent polls have shown us that only 20% of Americans identify with the left and 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservatives, so that means that the remaining 40% are independents or "moderates". Those are who we need to and can convince. If we hand the left ready-made imagery of a person with a pistol strapped to their hip carrying a sign that states, "It's time to water the tree of liberty". We are handing them ready-made propaganda to broadcast far and wide on their complicit mass-media outlets. We are handing them the raw materials for exaggeration and mis-characterization to use against us. We do not need to engage in hyperbole to win these folks over. We need to make it abundantly clear that it is the left who are the extremists, not us. When they point at peaceful, thoughtful, sensible Americans engaging in civil discourse and evoke imagery like Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVeigh, our fellow Americans are smart enough to recognize hypocrisy when they see it. Let the left send in their plants for the propaganda pictures and then let's expose them for the plants they are. For example:

A New Solidarity

I've gotten a number of questions in my email about this banner that I recently decided to add to my sidebar. This banner is of my own making. To begin with I blatantly stole Lech Walesa's Salidarnosc logo from the Polish democracy movement of the 1980's. Droves of Poles marched under this banner and eventually won freedom from communism for themselves.
It is my belief that we here in the USA desperately needs our own Lech Walesa. We need some dynamic leader to inspire us to free ourselves from the depredations of communism. So I overlaid the American flag over Lech's Solidarnosc logo to add context.

Lech led his people to freedom in a peaceful revolt and that is my hope for this nation as well. I have heard and seen so many otherwise patriotic people lose hope lately and start entertaining thoughts of revolt. I've even seen a few talking about the possibility of revolution.

Flying this logo on my sidebar is my form of quiet revolt against the tyrannical direction this country is headed.

It is my hope that it will not only display my discontent but also help remind myself and others that change can be arrived at without resorting to violence.

This banner also represents my fervent wish for a true leader to arrive on the scene. How many election cycles have you had to hold your nose and vote for the least objectionable candidate? I long for a candidate that I can wholeheartedly support.

So as you can see, my motivations and its meanings are manifold.

If you feel the same way that I do, I invite you to borrow and fly my simple banner on your side-bar. All I ask, is that you drop a message in the comments to let me know that you too feel like I do.

Oh and one other note... DO NOT believe that I am a pacifist. I just believe that before one resorts to directing bellicosity toward one's brother that they ought to contemplate that act long and hard. It should be a last resort, not the first one. I say this because war should never be entered into without the willingness to utterly decimate your opponent to secure victory.

"Human Destruction"

The headline read, "Earth bears scars of human destruction: astronaut". Click the title of this post to see the Reuters news article that was splashed across Yahoo's main page. Seeing a headline such as this drums up dire images in the imagination of the reader. Clearly our Earth is in dire peril! So I took the bait and clicked the link.

In the article Canadian astronaut, Dr. Bob Thirsk is quoted as the authoritative source. Bob is two months into a planned six month stay on the International Space Station. This is his second trip into space. His first was as payload specialist aboard space shuttle mission STS-78 in June and July of 1996. Wow, I would not want to detract from Bob's obvious experience but I wondered how qualified Bob was to speak out on matters revolving around the environment of the Earth. Was he some sort of climate scientist or even a scientist at all?

A little research yielded that Bob had received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Calgary, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Doctorate of Medicine from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Bob was in the family medicine residency program at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Montréal when he was selected to join Canada's space program. Now I ask you, how is a medical doctor with degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration qualified to speak out on matters of the environment?

Reading the article to find its basis yielded this juicy quote from Dr. Thirsk, "This is probably just a perception, but I just have the feeling that the glaciers are melting, the snow capping the mountains is less than it was 12 years ago when I saw it last time". (Emphasis is entirely mine).

So that is what serves as the impetus for a doom and gloom article title like, "Earth bears scars of human destruction"? Beyond that, one questions the validity of the whole premise. Environmentalists have been telling for years now about how "Global Warming" was going to destroy the planet. We've been told that the science is solid and that the consensus has been struck. The dies are cast and we are all going to hell in a hand basket woven of carbon dioxide gases humans have released into the atmosphere.

The problem is, science isn't done by consensus. All due respect to Bob, but science isn't done by mere perceptions or feelings either. The scientific method has been established for damned long time. It is how science is done! There are four basic steps:

1.) Observe the phenomenon in question.

2.) Form a hypothesis that describes the mechanism behind the observations.

3.) Using your hypothesis as the basis, form a prediction.

4.) Perform tests designed to disprove your prediction and thereby your hypothesis.This is how science is done. Any hypothesis that can withstand these rigors is considered truth any that can not, is discarded. There is no room for feelings, beliefs or voting a consensus. If Bob were a scientist he'd know this. If Reuters were a real "news" agency and not a propaganda arm for the DNC, they'd know this as well. You see the science of "Global Warming" is flawed right at step one. You see the observations of the phenomenon are broken. The temperature is not rising. While it did show a rising trend for a while, that trend reversed 11 years ago according to the NOAA. It's a little hard to observe a trend of rising temperatures when the temperatures are not rising. (Note the flames as this lead balloon descends to Earth with a resounding thud.) That is why the liberals are now calling it "global climate change". It polls better.

A Plea For Aid

A plea for aid arrived in my e-mail box today from the 2nd Cavalry Association. As many are perhaps aware I was a trooper in the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment. One of our own, SGT Michael Minard from Union Beach New Jersey was wounded on October 1st 2007 on his 3rd tour to Iraq. He lost both legs in a roadside IED (Improvised Explosive Device) attack.

This plea hit me very close to my heart as all cavalrymen share an unbreakable bond.

Mike has been at Walter Reed Army Medical Center recovering from those wounds ever since.

Mike will soon be ready to return home. A new house is being built for him. A house that is specially designed to ease overcoming the challenges his wounds will present. This new home is not a benefit provided by the Pentagon it is provided by a private charitable organization supported only by private donations... Your donations.

Mike Menard's old house has already been demolished and help is needed to build the replacement in its place. By help I mean ANY help. If you can swing a hammer or have a background in construction you are needed. There will be a "Marathon Build Brigade" event held between August 5th and August 9th. If you wish to donate construction materials that too would be appreciated. Please take a moment and recognize the debt that you personally owe Mike Menard and his family and so many others like him. This man left his young family and placed his life on the line for the lofty goal of serving our country. Soldiers do not pick their battlefields. They unquestioningly go where they are ordered. They only choose to serve.

Well to start things off let's start with Sarah Palin. As you probably know, Governor Palin resigned from the governorship. There has been a lot of speculation surrounding this event. The talking heads on Fox have been divided. Half are saying the Sarah has completely sabotaged her political future with this move. The other half are saying that it was not necessarily a bad move. The liberals of course are all frothing all over themselves with witless speculation that Sarah must be attempting to avoid charges. Obviously they are mistaking the governor for a liberal. Well the newest poll of Conservative feelings on the matter is in. Conservatives support her more after her resignation than before and not only that, but her base of support is massive. 71% of all Conservatives would vote for her if she ran for president. Libs of course are hoping she'd leave them alone. Probably because they fear her. Sarah carries with her an air of genuineness and that is something none of their plastic pundits can muster.

At the G8 Summit, ol' Barry has obligated us to keep average global temperature increases below 2 degrees Celsius. It has already been well established that any temperature increase reported is due to the inclusion of erroneous data. In fact, it has been well proven that temperatures have been declining. Why then does Barry insist on obligating us to this? Simple. He will take the wrong readings and use them to force us to buy "green" (aka Rube Goldberg-esque) technology. Liberals can't do science. It requires logic and a logical liberal is an oxymoron. In truth, this is all about redistribution of wealth. We here in the US are wealthy and that makes liberals cringe. So Barry is set to siphon all of our wealth away until we are just as poor as every other 3rd world shit hole.

The NRA has come out saying that they have "concerns" about Sonia Sotomayor's gun rights beliefs. They say that they will begin to "actually oppose" her nomination if she is evasive or dismissive of questions during the confirmation process regarding gun rights. You see this is an example of why I am dismissive of the NRA. I used to be a member but have instead moved my support to other more active gun rights groups. Sotomayor has already proven that she is hostile to our rights to keep and bear arms. In a recent decision she declared that the Heller vs. DC decision does indeed say that the second amendment is a personal right, but that the decision does not apply to the states. In other words she is insinuating that the states are utterly unfettered in the restraints that they can place on our rights to keep and bear arms. Her nomination must be halted. Any blue-dog dem that votes for her nomination might as well resign from office. Your gun totin' constituency will not forget!

The other day I received an e-mail from my pal DI over at at the Defiant Infidel blog. I eagerly opened it, thinking that it perhaps contained one of his famous well written missives or perhaps a few of his entertaining pictures. What I found when I opened it instead was DI tagging me with a meme.

This is the first time I've been tagged with a meme in all the years that I've been blogging. This particular meme asks me to share 8 random "factoids" about myself then tag five others with the meme.

I thought this a good list of topics and decided to plagiarize it and issue my own set of responses. So here goes:

HOME

I grew up mainly on a dairy farm in south central Pennsylvania, but when my father became disgruntled with the new owners of the farm we began a process of moving around from place to place. At an early age (17) I joined the Army and the vagabond lifestyle continued. Then I adopted software development as my career and it by its very nature requires one to move frequently. Therefore I have no single place that has so seized my imagination enough to make me call it home. Home to me is my family. Where they are, I am at home. I suppose at some point I will eventually find some spot on this planet that makes me want to stay there, but so far none has leaped out. I suppose there is Northern Idaho. When I first descended into the valley that contains Lake Coeur d' Alene I was taken with it's beauty and ever since then I've thought about eventually retiring there. Then there's Alaska. It's always captured my imagination. I remember being a kid in elementary school and our teacher told us about Alaska and how people could still homestead land there. The idea of a place still being so wild really got it wedged in my mind. I'm drawn by something inside me to the wild places of the earth and as the last great frontier in this nation; Alaska has a certain allure.

DOGS

There are few things that have enriched my life like having a dog in it. As a child I grew up with mainly large dogs (German Shephards, Collies, St. Bernards, Dobermans). I loved every one of them. But, as I've grown older and have taken up the previously mentioned vagabond lifestyle I have by necessity moved over to small dogs. It's just easier to find rental places that will allow you to keep a small dog than it is to find a place that allows you to keep large dogs and with all of the moving around, who wants to buy? My first wife was pretty much anti-animal. So that precluded the ownership of any kind of animal. Mainly because she would find a way to use anything that brought you joy as a weapon to cause pain. My current wife however is fixated on dogs. She brought with her a love of poodles, but as far as she's concerned any dog'll do. So while we were wandering through a pet shop in Montana we happened upon an odd little white fluff ball. Well it turns out that it was a Miniature American Eskimo. Bianca came home with us immediately after licking my wife's nose because after all, "how could she put it back down after that?" Since then, we've added Priscilla a poodle/bischon mix and after the much rued death of our teacup poodle Coal we rescued another American Eskimo named Vivian from a puppy mill that had gotten closed down.

FEARS

I try to eject all fear from my life. Nothing irks me more than surrendering control of my life and that is precisely what fear is. I suppose there will always be fear of something in your life, but I do try to rid myself of all phobias. I fear being unable to protect my loved ones from harm. I fear the things that are outside of my control, like the direction the country is being taken in.

PET PEEVES

I have many pet peeves. It drives me nuts when someone is driving slow enough to make you slip into the passing lane and then once there, the idiot speeds up so you can't pass them. That drives me nuts. Inefficiency drives my crazy. I hate looking at an inefficient practice or something that wastes time. I also hate people that just sit on their asses and scream at their kids. Look fat ass, your kid knows that you're too lazy to get up and make them listen so screaming only serves to annoy me!

MOVIES

I have a saying about movies. If a movie has guns and explosions, who needs a plot? That should pretty much cue you in to my movie preferences. I enjoy action movies and war movies. I also like science fiction and some select comedies. For example I hated Rocky Horror but absolutely loved Clerks II (my favorite comedy of all time).

HOBBIES

Honestly said, I have too many hobbies, but I'm the type whose mind doesn't shut down. I get bored very easily. So I get into a lot of odd things. I like astronomy, electronics, robotics, writing music, playing guitar, computer programming, blogging, writing in general, hunting, shooting, medieval reenactment, armoursmithing and general tinkering. The list goes on from there, but you get the general gist of it.

ODD FOOD PREFERENCES

I have no odd food preferences. In fact, I prefer very much to stay with the tried and true. Everyone is always trying to shove some odd thing or another onto my plate but the days of being forced to eat whatever was placed in front of me ended when I left my father's home. Beyond that a number of allergies tend to limit my adventurousness. I'm allergic to garlic and mushrooms. The mushrooms are no big loss, but I do love the taste of garlic and it is an allergy that has suddenly appeared with a vengeance. I can't even endure the scent of garlic. I also am very anti-sea food. The number of aquatic critters I'll eat is very limited. I just don't like the taste.

POLITICAL CONCERNS

Well I have many. Mainly I rue the great distance we have traveled from the intents of the founding fathers. I see a nation that is growing more and more divided. The chasm between us is growing wider and deeper and nothing seems to bridge the gap. Not even the devastation that was wrought on 9/11 was enough to heal the gash for very long at all. We seemed to close in, shake hands and then immediately return to our battle lines. There was a time when being Americans united us as a folk enough that the disagreements remained at the very least congenial. These days the traded barbs are growing less and less civil as time passes and I fear it is only a matter of time until it truly comes to blows. It also seems as though there is no real party to represent the people any more. Both of the political parties represent only their own vested interests. For example, neither party would dare consider tackling term limits, true election fraud prevention or limits on lobbying no matter how much popular support there is for such things. It seems like the parties are fomenting this loss of congeniality to divert attention away from the fact that both of them are pulling more and more of the power out of the hands of "we the people™" and consolidating it in theirs.

Utter Fallacy

The House of Representatives has pushed through a bill that hands Barrack his much desired "cap and trade". All of us will suffer if this should make its way through the Senate. Obama of course claims that the measure is needed to prevent "global climate change".

You'll notice that the wording on that claim has changed. They used to call it "global warming". Surreptitiously they've smuggled in a change in terms. Now they call it "global climate change". Do you know why? Because the planet isn't warming. In fact, it has been cooling for the last 11 years. We are in the midst of the coldest summer in the Northern Hemisphere in 50 years.

In a previous post I related an article that showed that the EPA was using September temperature figures for October temperature reports for large portions of the globe in order to artificially increase the mean temperature.

Science has a central tenant, that being "predictable and repeatable". If your hypothesis can not be verified by actually predicting the future repeatedly, then you have to assume that your premise is flawed. In other words. If you postulate that increasing the CO2 content in the atmosphere will increase temperatures, then the observations do not pan out, your premise is incorrect. In other words mankind is not changing the environment. It is troublesome for the liberals when the pesky environment doesn't cooperate.

Well you see their pet projects are depending on us believing that the sky is falling. I mean they are at the forefront of creating "green" technology. Do you know how one creates green technology? You take a simple straight forward technology. You make a Rube Goldberg version of it that is less efficient, more costly and less dependable. Then you slap a "green/eco-friendly" label on it and ridicule the public into buying it. When ridicule alone doesn't work, then you invent a bogus theory and call it science. Using that "science" as an excuse, you disadvantage the "non-green" technology via legislation.

So it would be problematic of course if one of your top climate scientists suspended his faith and actually looked at the conflicting scientific evidence. Well that has happened. Alan Carlin, the primary author of a 98 page EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) report that questions the soundness of "global warming" science has reported that his findings are being quashed by the EPA. In an e-mail exchange released to CBS news, Carlin's boss, Al McGartland is quoted as saying:

"The administrator and the administration has decided to move forward... and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision."

In other words, "shut up! Don't confuse the public with facts. Just write propaganda to scare them into supporting our stance".

So there you have it. Many of us have known that the science behind global warming is specious at best. I mean when announcements are made about the scientific world arriving at a "consensus". That says it all right there. Science isn't driven by consensus. It's science not American Idol. Science is driven by the ability of a theory to reliably and repeatedly account for and predict the observed facts.

So, if the Senate also passes "cap and trade" they are in effect simply creating a system by which they are leveling the playing field. They are slanting the odds so that their uneconomical, ungainly, ineffective, Rube Goldberg-esque "green" technologies can compete. They do it by raising the cost of conventional technology by means of a tax. This eco-fad will spell ruination for our economy. American family budgets; already struggling with the cost of energy, will be stretched even thinner just to service a lie.

When Will Heller Begin to Pay Out

A year ago the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in the Heller vs DC case; finding that Americans do indeed have a fundamental individual right to keep and bear arms. For years liberals had claimed that the second amendment only authorized states to maintain National Guard troops. This argument was of course specious at best, but citing that perverted interpretation they authored tens of thousands of intrusive anti-gun laws that thus far have had no effect on reducing crime

The Supreme Court's decision basically stated that weapons normally used for legal pursuits such as self-defense or sport could not be outlawed or unduly restricted. Since that ruling change has been slow in coming. Washington DC residents are still by and large prevented from owning handguns by an unwieldy permitting process.

Movement is however slowly beginning to occur in fits and starts. A Philadelphia "assault weapon" ban was recently struck down by the Commonwealth Supreme Court. That same court also struck down a law limiting the number of handguns that a person can purchase in a month. Further it was decided that municipalities could not preempt state law.

Unfortunately substantial resistance still exists. Obama's nominee to the Supreme Court, Sonia Sotomayor, a historically anti-RKBA activist, refused to consider the second amendment in a case challenging New York's ban on Nunchaku and a recent challenge to Chicago's oppressive anti-gun laws was shot down by the Seventh Circuit Court.

We RKBA'ers waited a damned long time for such a ruling. It's about time that we start actually seeing the benefits and making use of it. Where the hell is the NRA? We've funnelled huge amounts of money into that organization. It initially condemned Heller for taking the case to court. Of course after he walked out with the landmark decision in hand, they paid obligatory lip service to it, but where are they now? The huge amounts of money religiously sent into that organization by RKBA'ers can certainly fund a lot of legal challenges. Where are they?

Let me tell you friends I think a vision of their own mortality is what prevents the NRA from actually using the money and decision to its full effect. Why fund an organization that no longer has a foe? In my mind, that is why they do not do what we expect them to do. Perhaps if we shift enough of our cash to supporting actual activist organizations with courage such as the JPFO then the NRA behemoth will wake from its slumber and engage the now vulnerable foe.

If any NRA supporters are reading this missive, please call your NRA representative and demand that they get off their over funded, under active asses and retake the ground that they've allowed to be unjustly occupied due to their lackadaisical attitude. Threaten to give you donations to othe RKBA groups. Hit them in the wallet, that will get them off their keesters!

While Barack Obama might be reticent to say that he supports the unrest in Iran, I am not afraid to say that I support the protesters. While Barack supports perpetrators of election fraud like ACORN, I am willing to say that the voice of the population of a country should not ignored or stifled. While Obama is busy curtailing the rights of his own people, I am willing to say that I cheer the attempt of the people of Iran to rise up and seize their rights from the greedy clutches of an oppressive regime. Yes my friends, Barack Hussein Obama might not support the attempts of the people of Iran to oust the unjust regime that he wishes to reach his hand out to, but I do!

There are several things quick things I'd like to cover quickly:

1.) NASA is launching a mission to the moon. They intend to crash an impactor into the south polar region of the moon some time in October. The impact should be large enough that amateurs should be able to witness the event live in a moderate power telescope. Here is the mission home page.

2.) It seems that Obama is replacing hundreds of dollars per month in food stamps for some laid off workers' families with a single $25 check. Here is an article about it.

3.) Some people have been giving me crap for calling Carlos Bledsoe's (aka. Abdulhakim Muhammad) attack on the recruiting station in Arkansas a terrorist attack. Well it seems I'm not the only one raising this concern. According to this article, there are quite a few folks thinking that same thing.

To this I say, "I told you so!"

Beyond that let me do a little prognostication. Be prepared for a wave of similar attacks. Our muslim foes want to convert this country to an islamic nation and they are making in-roads in that effort. Already many are leaving prison inducted into the religion and radicalized as well. Al Quaeda has been attempting to specifically recruit terrorists that do not fit the young muslim male mold. They are looking for people that do not automatically raise suspicion.

4.) Obama has been calling for "fiscal restraint" and abiding by "pay go" rules. This is simply amazing. After signing a huge $800 billion laundry list of unfunded liberal pork under the guise of providing economic stimulus, he suddenly wants budget discipline?

To this I can say nothing because I am laughing too hard to speak!

Oh and that "stimulus" package... Where's the stimulative effect?

A Tribute

Watching the ongoing misadventures of the current Commander in Chief has me REALLY missing the only true one in my entire lifetime. Pardon me for getting all sentimental but damned Fox News just ran his address honoring the Rangers on Pointe Du Hoc on the 40th anniversary of D-Day and I got all mushy.

That was a man that was able to give a good speech (even without a teleprompter!). For those who want to know... I was on a patrol along the East German border on the day that particular speech was given. I remember clearly sitting on a castle wall on a hill top that was a frequent patrol stopping point because it overlooked a long stretch the border around Mödlareuth, eating a mess hall bologna sandwich and reflecting on the fact that it was D-Day. The thin line of history that led from those bloody beaches directly to my patrol along that barbed wire festooned border did not escape me even back then in my youth.

Unfortunately, our current Commander in Chief has more in common with the former leader of that, now failed country than he does with Ronald Reagan.

Evolution Naysayers

Yes I know, when you view the title of this post you will probably think that I am going to be addressing religious fundamentalists that insist that the diversity of life on this planet can not have sprung forth without the intervention of the invisible hand of an almighty deity - but I'm not. No my friends, there are others who poo-poo the idea of evolution. Interestingly it is the very ones who claim to most fervently support the notion of evolution that I will address. These naysayers however believe that evolution must be arrested... stopped dead in its tracks. They believe that they control evolution and not vice-versa.

Perhaps by now you may be getting an inkling of where I am headed. Perhaps you do not believe my contention. Allow me to continue.

Mother nature generally has a way of thinning the herd; trimming the weak and replacing them with stronger performers. You see the environment and ecosystems of the planet are a constantly changing milieu of push and shove. It is a dance between specialization and generalization... a cycle of rise and fall. It is quite simply change incarnate.

To illustrate my point, let's protract the megaloceros a favorite of mine:
This is a long-dead species of elk that once wandered far and wide across ice age Europe and Asia. The name covers a wide variety of species but is generally and more frequently used to indicate the species more commonly known as the Irish Elk.

These animals sported an amazing set of antlers. Fossilized examples of these antlers have been found throughout Europe and are often then mounted and hung on the walls like other trophy antlers. That is where I saw my first set, hanging on the wall in a gasthaus in Germany while I was stationed there. The breathtaking size of them impressed me and remains stuck in my mind to this day.

As a side note, it is often incorrectly believed that they are related to the American moose. They are not. They are more closely related to fallow deer.

It is also the general haughty consensus that mankind caused the demise of this creature. It is believed that we hunted this critter to its end. The undeniable fact is that the stocks of this animal had so declined that their continued existence was precarious at best.

So did we really hunt this creature to death? Perhaps... but it had already been weakened by the fact that the ever changing environment had migrated away from it, depriving it of its sweet spot or niche. So, while mankind may have finished the job. Nature itself had already decided this creature's fate. As the ice receded from the last ice age, so too did the niche ecosystem that spawned and nurtured this amazing creature.

So what if a few precariously surviving individuals of this species were found to miraculously exist today? The standard mantra would be that we would need to set aside generous reserves and prevent the encroachment of mankind to ensure that this obsolete species did not pass on into the twilight. This in spite of the fact that nature itself has rung the death knell for the species. Resources would be squandered to thwart evolution and the environment.

Ask yourself this. Should we preserve this species from its rightful end, are we perhaps not doing the very thing that they wish to prevent? Are we not still allowing mankind to impact nature by preventing its demise? Rightfully some other species should rise to fill the vacated niche. Are we not preventing or delaying that natural process by our actions?

Consider the fact that, if we should cause the demise of a species we are impacting nature and if we should favor a challenged species then we are also impacting the natural course of things.

Those of this mindset are insisting that they and not nature, are the smarter ones in their knowing that all species simply must endure. They point at man as an evil doer but forget that nature itself created and spawned man to be exactly what he is. They delude themselves into thinking that they control the very system that brought them forth and caused them to evolve from their ape brethren. They stand in the stream of change; bucking the unremitting current, their chest heaving with the exertion, defiantly shaking their puny cozened fists in the face of inevitability.

You see, some day we too will pass into obsolescence. The particular mix of traits that fleetingly places us in our niche at the pinnacle of this ecosystem in this environment will without a doubt be superseded and no longer address the challenges of survival in that niche of a future ecosystem in an inevitably changed environment.

These are the naysayers that I wish to address with this post. Perhaps by now you will see that they are every bit as wrong about evolution as the religious fundamentalist sort; if not more so!

So now let's expand our examination of these people beyond the realm of the evolution of animal species and the variability of the environment.

These same evolution naysayers have cast their specious philosophy upon our economy. An economy is after all analogous to an ecosystem. Things change there too and sometimes the requirements that once caused a company to arise and prosper may, by the will of fate alone change, leaving that once flourishing company high and dry and ill-suited to compete in their new environment.

Our illogical naysayers once again threateningly shake their feeble little fists in the face of this "fait accompli" and claim their doomed megalocerous of a company is "too big to fail". In response they toss out colossal sums of money with reckless abandon all to serve their near-religious faith in their ability to forestall the inevitable sands of change. They cavitate in an impotent churning froth of hastily printed Monopoly money and misguided peckish fervor. Here too, they will fail. They are doomed to failure and we with them are doomed to go along for the ride. Our complicity of inaction ensures that generations to come will also be doomed to a seat on this hellish ride to a thundering crash of splintering failure and the misery of slow recuperation.

Of course they will use their foray into this realm to support their faith in stymieing biological evolution and ecological change. They will nationalize these companies and then force them to crank out unwanted ill-conceived products. They will rationalize, that if they build them then the consumers will come... They deny the fact that the financial environment is diced into ecosystems of supply and demand. Expecting these products to sell would be akin to tossing a goldfish up into a tree and expecting it to thrive there.

Logic is obviously not their strong suit.

Expanding this line of thinking leads us to other arenas in which they ply this feckless philosophy.

...Communism for example...

Communism is of course a creature doomed from the start. It is a chimera... a damned combination of ill-combined traits praying for niche where it can thrive. Our naysayers believe that in spite of the fact that this hideous creature has failed abysmally in every single "ecosystem" where it's been released, that it too must none-the-less be perpetuated. They contend that the failure to date is due to the fact that it was not they who managed the release of this Frankenstein's monster into the wild.

There are of course those who read this, who are sure to puff out their huffing puny chests, roll their lower lips into a childlike pout and wheeze out an indignant protest against the fact that I deign to claim that they are following this path, but facts are facts and they are discarding the endeavors of our founding fathers. I call as my witness those who are perhaps the best authority to call a spade a communist spade. I present to you Pravda, the former official mouthpiece of the communist regime of the fallen USSR. Who better to recognize communism when they see it? In an April 27th editorial, Pravda claims:

"It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed..."

Read the whole editorial. It is brutally eye opening.

How can the president of the United States nationalizing one business after another and placing the proletariat (labor unions) in charge of the factories not be called Marxism and communism? We all know that it is a perfect example of Chicago-style quid pro quo politics. It is surely a corrupt payback for services rendered but it is also the very definition of Marxism... the contrived conflict between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie.

Communism is of course doomed. I claim that because we all know that without deprivation mankind has no impetus to excel. It is discomfort that compels us forward. Have you ever heard the saying, "necessity is the mother of invention?" Under communism, society invariably wallows in paralyzing mediocrity and complacency since by definition, every effort is rewarded the same. People are inspired to greatness only with the greatest stimulus and communism provides only the vapidity of contrived "fairness" as a stimulus.

Again we and generations of our progeny are doomed to go along for this hand basket ride. Or are we?

Be forewarned. I may edit this post as my thoughts continue to crystallize around this line of logic.

In the 1980's Congress gave every American veteran the honor of being buried with full military honors. What they did not do was ensure there would be enough military buglers to play taps for these fallen veterans. Click the title of this post to navigate to a site that hopes to provide a military bugler for each and every one of our fallen heroes. This charity is run by Tom Day, a Marine Corps veteran who believed that sufficing with playing Taps on a boombox was not good enough for our fallen protectors. He has personally trained buglers and helped others assemble uniforms. He funds much of this effort from his pension. I heard this story on the news and was compelled to offer this man a reflex salute.

A Little Family History For Memorial Day

Some of you may know that I am related General Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain (he's my great great...). Some time ago a movie named Gettysburg focused on his actions at the battle of Gettysburg on top of Little Round Top, an action for which he was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

It is this kind of selflessness that is recognized on this weekend. Take a moment and reflect on the sacrifices that have been offered up at the altar of freedom. What have you done to deserve those sacrifices?

There are so many these days who are fixated on the things that they feel they are entitled to. In truth, you are entitled to nothing. This nation owes you nothing. YOU owe this nation. You owe it your vigilance. You owe it your toil and if need be your blood. We have been so lucky for so long that we easily forget that. We become concerned with questions like "How should I pay for health care?" and some leap to the conclusion that it would be easiest if such things were just handed to them. Of course it would be easy if that would happen, but such thinking isn't very realistic now is it? The answer to such a dilemma is rarely as gratifying as getting something for nothing. The answer is that we ourselves must be prepared for such eventualities. We must save and put aside a bit for rainy days.

The problem is that we are now pursuing such unrealistic ideas at break neck speed. The ideals that our fore-bearers fought and died to preserve are being discarded like so much worthless chaff all in a pursuit to attain the unattainable, something for nothing.

Look at the action portrayed in those four videos. You see men dying left and right. Ask yourself why are they standing there and putting themselves in such a lethal situation. Do you think that they are doing it to get free health care? Or, are they doing in to preserve the nation and freedom?

Now ask yourself the greatest question. Would you give up your life to preserve freedom for your friends and family? If not, then why? The only reasons I can picture are either selfishness or cowardice. Which applies to you?

New 2009 Deficit Forecast

The OMB has released the newest projections for president Obama's deficit for this year. 1.84 trillion dollars ($1,840,000,000,000). According to the US Census Bureau the current population of the United States is 306,409,555. So a little math yields a figure of $6,005.03 for every man woman and child in the United States just to pay for Obama's deficit spending for this year so far (and we're not even half way through it yet). This level of deficit spending means that fifty cents out of every dollar the government is spending this year is borrowed. Here are a few things that could be bought for every man woman and child with that six grand...

How about 1,200 Subway sandwiches or 1,645 Big Macs?

Not into fast food... well then you could buy two top of the line Dell laptops for each and every person in the US and still have $600 to buy some software for them.

You could buy a brand spanking new, tricked out one of these for everyone and still have cash to buy gas for it for a year:
Not a biker, then how about we send everyone in the country on two 7 day Disney Western Caribbean cruises with a balcony stateroom?

It is time for Obama to stop blaming this all on George Bush. Obama sat with the majority party in the Senate that presided over the years prior to his election to president, so he is equally to blame for the state of the economy at the point that he took over the reins. Besides he's running a full four times higher than the highest annual deficit EVER in the entire history of the nation!

Riding The Wave

Some time ago I told you about a law passed in Montana that exempted firearms made and kept in Montana from federal regulations. Some of you may not have grasped the immensity that the passage of that law represents. This is a direct challenge to the over-reaching influence of the federal government. This law will no doubt be tested in the SCOTUS and the result of that decision will be huge. Basically, if you read the constitution you'll find that in Article 1 Section 8 Congress is given a FINITE list of powers. We are used to thinking of Congress as being all powerful and unlimited in the things that they can impose upon us and dictate from on high. That is not how our founding fathers had envisioned it. You see all of the liberal agenda has been built upon one small line in the Constitution. That lines reads:

"The Congress shall have power... To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes"

Do you see there where they are given the ability to regulate what kind of firearms you may own? How about the authority to dictate that a non-functioning, low-flow toilet must be installed in your bathroom? Do you spy the words granting the authority to nationalize health care or take over companies? Personally, I don't!

Going back in history you'll find that the SCOTUS repeatedly struck down all of Roosevelt's "new deal" legislation until two Key justices, Justice Owen Josephus Roberts and Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes switched sides to avert a Roosevelt threat to stack the court with dupes. So, even back then libs ruled by threat and intimidation. From that point on the court took the stance that limits on Congress' regulation of commerce should be decided by the ballot box and not the court. Basically, they abdicated their responsibility to act as a check and balance against the other two branches of government. Our forefathers knew that the fervor of the moment can often overpower the prudence of time. For that reason they designed a system that made change a hard thing to enact. Roosevelt's threat short circuited that design and cursed us with the end result that we see today. It was this "stitch in time that saved nine" that was the turning point. Today, Congress dictates one intrusive law after another unabated. They spend our money with reckless abandon and have forgotten that they serve us and not the other way around.

If Montana's law should stand up to the scrutiny of the SCOTUS that means that all those years of Congressional over-reaching will be built on quite sandy soil.

Like I said the one thing of lasting legacy left by the George W. Bush administration is his appointments to the SCOTUS. Let's hope that they do not lack a spine on this one folks!

It seems that two other states, Utah and Texas thought that Montana had a damned good idea and are duplicating Montana's spiffy new law.

Well it would appear that all here at casa G-Man have survived the H1N1 swine flu pandemic for now. In view of the dire coverage on the daily news however, we have been forced to retreat to the safety of our hermetically sealed bunker to avoid its lethal depredations...

C'mon people this is not a modern incarnation of the black plague... It's the damned flu! About 36,000 people a year die due to the flu, but so far only one person (a Mexican visitor) has died from this flu in this country.

The news media have been in full swing, ramping up the panic level all in an effort to cast a camouflage net over Obama's latest misdeeds and diablerie. If they keep us running scared or distracted we may not notice the handbasket we're riding in nor question our eventual destination.

For example if the holy one wants to discard capitalism... Viola! NBC produces a depression era shanty town in Sacramento California to justify his unconstitutional deeds:

But if you dig into it things are not as our buddy Matt Lauer presents them. Read this responsible report on the shanty town you will find that it has existed for years and that it has not seen any appreciable population growth because of the current economic downturn. In fact it has been populated over the decades by the chronically homeless; those who through mental illness or addiction have found a normal life impossible to lead and therefore have found themselves on the street.

Day by day our freedoms are being abridged at an alarming rate by this administration. You now no longer have the right to pursue your luck in business and ride that business to success or failure. Now if you succeed, you are vilified and outrageously taxed. If however you fail... then you will be propped up, your assets nationalized and the ill-fated fruits of your toils taken away from you.

It really is a sad state of affairs. We're all homophobes and racists because we disagree. Moving on along... Rightwing Extremism Afoot in Montana?

The Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer recently signed Montana House Bill 246 into law. This bill exempts Montanans from any gun control laws passed by the Federal government after 1889 (The year Montana joined the Union). It cites the second, ninth and tenth amendments of the U.S. Constitution and the Montana State Constitution as the authority to authorize this exemption. Here is the cogent excerpt:

A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Montana and that remains within the borders of Montana is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce. It is declared by the legislature that those items have not traveled in interstate commerce. This section applies to a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured in Montana from basic materials and that can be manufactured without the inclusion of any significant parts imported from another state. Generic and insignificant parts that have other manufacturing or consumer product applications are not firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition, and their importation into Montana and incorporation into a firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition manufactured in Montana does not subject the firearm, firearm accessory, or ammunition to federal regulation. It is declared by the legislature that basic materials, such as unmachined steel and unshaped wood, are not firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition and are not subject to congressional authority to regulate firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition under interstate commerce as if they were actually firearms, firearms accessories, or ammunition. The authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce in basic materials does not include authority to regulate firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition made in Montana from those materials. Firearms accessories that are imported into Montana from another state and that are subject to federal regulation as being in interstate commerce do not subject a firearm to federal regulation under interstate commerce because they are attached to or used in conjunction with a firearm in Montana.

This is the latest in a string of challenges to the expanding authority of Washington DC. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the courts. This effectively trumps Texas' Governor Rick Perry's recent statement threatening secession from the union... Well until he actually secedes that is.

You know the thing that really puzzles me? Schweitzer is a democrat... What the hell is up with that? A lib actually standing up to the sainted Obama and supporting an individual's right to keep and bear... anybody seen a weather report in hell lately?

Here's a Schweitzer quote:

“I like big guns, I like little guns, I like pistols, I like rifles, and I would like to buy a gun that’s made in Montana.”

Word is, a flight of a squadron of pigs was recently witnessed in Helena.

I guess this moves the democrat Brian Schweitzer officially and solidly into the right-wing extremist column.

Rightwing Extremism?

Click the title of this post to read a report issued by Obama's Department of Homeland security. It appears that this department that was once tasked with protecting us from the threat of terrorism has been re-tasked with policing political opponents. I'll present the finding of this report in Jeff Foxworthy fashion. Dear readers I present you with, "You might be a dangerous right-wing extremist if...":

You buy guns or ammunition in advance of an inevitable gun ban
You oppose any further imposition on our second amendment rights
You believe our government is not doing enough about the illegal immigrant issue
You oppose amnesty for illegal aliens
You are disgruntled with the economy
You think we are paying too many taxes
You are tired of pork barrel spending, bailouts and rampant ear marks
You believe abortion is immoral
You think Obama is taking this country too far to the left
You believe in upholding the constitution
You are a returning veteran

So I guess applying those standards, Rick Perry (R) governor of Texas is a dangerous rightwing extremist when he said:

"I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state. That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union."

Hurray Rick Perry! Way to go!

Janet Napolitano has diverted this essential agency's attention from protecting all of us to clamping down on political dissent. The telling line from the whole report is this:

"Threats from white supremacist and violent antigovernment groups
during 2009 have been largely rhetorical and have not indicated plans to carry out violent acts."

In other words, "these people we are warning you about are doing nothing illegal except thinking thoughts that we disagree with and that is why they are dangerous". Ye Shall Hear of Wars and Rumours of Wars

I have been hearing grumblings for sometime now and I am growing concerned. Am I the only one hearing this and seeing this? To begin with there has been an absolute run on guns and ammunition. I have called every gun store within 100 miles. There is absolutely NO 7.62x39 ammunition to be had. For those who are a little less informed on such things, those are the rounds fired from an AK 47 or an SKS. They are probably the most produced rifle rounds on the face of the planet with the exception of the ubiquitous but anemic .22 Long Rifle. Trips to near by stores that carry ammunition reveal them to be bare of anything but the weird stuff and the weak stuff. Gun sales are booming, one of the few segments of the economy flying in the face of the recession. Friends that work for gun shops report sales volumes ranging from 300% to 1000% over March last year. Most have attributed this rush on guns to Obama's abysmal record on gun control. But I'm wondering if there isn't more afoot.

A Russian professor, Igor Panarin has prognosticated the dissolution of the United States by 2010. He foresees the country ending up divided into 6 separate parts.

Then, for the first time in my life I hear commentators on syndicated news channels seriously entertaining the thought of revolution occurring in the near future. (See here, here and then here).

As if that isn't good enough, politicians are getting into the act. Congresswoman Michele Bachman (R) of Minnesota had this to say:

"I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us ‘having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,’ and the people – we the people – are going to have to fight back hard if we’re not going to lose our country. And I think this has the potential of changing the dynamic of freedom forever in the United States."

- AND -

"I’m a foreign correspondent on enemy lines and I try to let everyone back here in Minnesota know exactly the nefarious activities that are taking place in Washington."

Even the libs are saying it (even though their reasons for it are nuts). Representative Jay Inslee of Washington, speaking about the permanent removal of the moratorium on offshore oil drilling, had this to say:

"We are off the Pacific coast, and there would be a civil war. There would be something like a secessionist movement if there was a serious attempt to remove the moratorium."

So in other words, if any attempt was made to "drill baby drill" the libs would get really upset and hold a little "secessionist movement"... No doubt there would be lots of tofu, patchouli, Birkenstocks, Che pictures and kaffiyehs.

Sixty-five democrat members of the House of Representatives have written a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder in the wake of his announcement that the Obama administration intended to pursue a reinstatement of the Clinton era assault weapons ban. Here is the text of that letter in its entirety:

Dear Attorney General Holder:

As strong supporters of the Second Amendment, we were very concerned to see your recent remarks suggesting that the administration will push for the reinstatement of the 1994 ban on "assault weapons" and ammunition magazines.

We believe that this ban was ineffective during the 10 years it was law, and would oppose its reenactment. Crime began falling before the ban was passed in 1994, and continued falling during and after the ban. The last time the murder rate was at its current level was more than forty years ago.

Even the Urban Institute study of the ban's effectiveness mandated by the 103rd Congress found that it could only have a limited effect because "the banned weapons and magazines were never used in more than a modest fraction of all gun murders."

It is hard to believe the ban would be any more effective in controlling crime by well-funded international drug traffickers, who regularly use grenade launchers, anti-tank rockets and other weapons that aer not available on the civilian market in the United States.

The gun control community as intentionally misled many Americans into believing that these weapons are fully automatic machine guns. They are not. these firearms fire one sot for every pull of the trigger. Some of the guns that would be banned under proposed bills have been around for more than 70 years, and are often passed down from generation to generation.

Many of our constituents lawfully own and use these firearms and ammunition magazines that would be affected by the new ban. Indeed, these are commonly owned firearms through the country. Law-abiding Americans use these guns for all the same reasons they use any other kind of gun--competitive shooting, hunting, and defending their homes and families.

Our constituents also have very real and serious problems that we in Congress urgently need to address. People are worried about keeping their jobs, paying for their families' health care, educating their children, and retiring with the kind of security their parents and grandparents enjoyed. A long and divisive fight over a gun control issue will only distract us from giving these more important issues the attention they deserve.

Again, we would actively oppose any effort to reinstate the 1994 ban, or to pass any similar law. We urge you to abandon this initiative and to focus instead on effective law enforcement strategies to enforce our current laws against violent criminals and drug traffickers.

I would love to be the first to say that I welcome this change of heart of the party of gun grabbers... Unfortunately, I am still far too skeptical to believe in this precipitous 180 degree reversal of course. You see I believe that the Supreme Court handed these asshats a serious blow in its findings in the Heller vs DC case. Even the normally illogical democrats have to see that the old gun grabbing tactics that they've traditionally employed will be pretty well blocked. Additionally, the polls have spoken loudly. On average 70% of Americans are solidly against any further legislation infringing on our right to keep and bear.

So don't let your guard down. We've seen the democrats I believe, trying some of their new tactics on for size. They've begun blaming the on-going violence in Mexico on smuggled American weapons; claiming that 90% of the weapons used in gang killings there stem from America, but even the BATFE in hearing said that those numbers could not be substantiated.

The other tack they've taken is to go after ammunition... There's been moves to use OSHA to complicate the storage of munitions at sporting goods stores to such an extent that ammunition would be prohibitively expensive. There's been efforts to saddle ammunition with exorbitant taxes and others have tried to initiate legislation to force the registration of ammunition or the introduction of prohibitively expensive tagents into the the powder that fills them.

Make no mistakes my friends this is nothing more than the latest attempt to lull us into complacency. They have not changed their stripes, just their hunting tactics.

Those who read my post from last night will perhaps remember me mentioning the potential use of Army troops on American soil. I'm sure some of my KoolAid drinking readers scoffed at that. Well next thing you know, some ex police cadet goes wacko in Alabama and goes on a shooting spree. Then what do I see in the news coverage? This picture from Reuters (click it to see it in its original context):

You see there in that picture if you look at the detail a very serious problem. US Army ACU uniforms combined with vests reading "Police".

Perhaps some of my less informed readers might not know what posse comitatus is. Allow me to inform you. Posse Comitatus is a federal law that was passed on June 16th 1878 after the Civil War. This law was a strengthening of the Insurrection Act of 1807 and a reaction to the stationing of federal forces in the former states of the Confederacy. In effect, it makes it illegal for federal military forces to be deployed to act in any law enforcement capacity.

Interesting that no "mainstream media" outlet is mentioning this tidbit, not even Reuters the outfit that published the picture.

A Few Misc. Topics

I've been very busy lately, but there were a few items I wanted to post on tonight.

First off, I got a rather disturbing call this evening. My father called. My wife answered the phone and immediately knew something was amiss from the tone of his voice.

My father and step-mother were traveling between their home in the Rocky Mountains back to the East Coast to visit family. They had stopped along the way to overnight in Illinois. When my father came out of the motel to load the vehicle to leave he encountered a man who told him a sob story.

My father being the kind man he is, decided to help the man by giving him a ride. Well long story short, the man managed to navigate my father to an unfrequented location where he could be relieved of his wallet and car. My father is physically unharmed from his encounter but has suffered monetary and also without a doubt psychological trauma from the encounter.

Way to go land of Lincoln, preying on an elderly gentleman that is only trying to follow his convictions and be a good Samaritan.

I am resolved that my father will never travel again without a means to defend himself from such predation.

Next topic. This article was forwarded to me by a co-worker. Can someone tell me why Obama is so damned reticent to produce his birth certificate in order to remove all doubts about his eligibility to be president? I mean honestly. I'm tired of people forwarding me all of these articles about all of these challenges to his eligibility to fill the office. I mean if there is no problem with his documentation why not just cough it up to quell the noise?

I guess this is just another instance of the broken promise of openness in his administration.

Now on another note, this one addressed to the folks forwarding these articles to me... Honestly, do we really want to challenge Obama's eligibility? Think about the ramifications for a moment. Even if he is indeed ineligible to be president, ejecting him would only mean that we would be relegated to the loathsome prospect of a Biden/Pelosi administration. Talk about a case of "out of the frying pan and into the fire".

Beyond that the liberals could give a rat's ass about upholding the constitution.

For those not familiar with it here is the politically correct Wikipedia page on it. Here is a somewhat less politically correct presentation of the information.

Now, I'm not usually the type that engages in conspiracy theories. I usually leave that to the mindless Ron Paul drones. But, the second page does indeed present a number of executive orders that can be researched and doing so does seem to support their contentions.

Now to my question. I've read the constitution from front to back more times than I can count. Nowhere in that document did I find any authorization that allows a president to rule by fiat. That is, in effect what executive orders are, the executive branch dictating law.

Answers.com presents a collection the standard arguments that are used to justify the issuance of executive orders, but all of these explanations seem vaporous at best to me. I thought the whole idea behind the blood spilled in our revolution and creation of the constitution was to eliminate the abuses that ensue from being ruled at the whim of a regent.

Beyond that as I mentioned before, the liberals scoff at the constitution... Doubt that, why then are they deploying troops inside our nation's borders to employ the lessons they've learned in Iraq against American citizens to put down the civil unrest that is sure to arise with the implementation of all of these socialist policies?

Last topic. The French recently honored the last surviving British veteran of the bloody trenches of World War I. Ambassador Maurice Gourdault-Montagne awarded 110-year-old Briton, Harry Patch the Legion of Honor medal.

It is always sad to see these first hand recollections of history passing from our collective grasp.

Frank Buckles at 109 years old, is the last living American veteran of WWI. It is sad to see these ranks thinning. The ranks of our WWII veterans are also sadly becoming thinner. So many of these folks have stories of endurance, honor and courage that could inspire and stand as stark lessons for our pampered youth to learn.

They can tell us stories of national resolve in the face of adversity. Unfortunately, I doubt our nation could successfully endure the challenge of fighting either of the world wars in this day and age. Our national resolve would shrivel to raisins on the vine in no time flat in the face of casualties in the field and rationing back at home. We're too busy bailing out businesses that don't deserve being bailed out, sucking at the government tit, discarding the free market, nationalizing businesses and carjacking elderly good Samaritans.

I can only shake my head in shame at the vapid shadow of our former greatness that we as a nation have become.

NYT Strikes Again

I can't figure out the liberal thought. The New York Times recently caught wind of secret efforts on the part of our military to teach the Pakistani military in tactics used to thwart terrorists. Clearly having the US military operating in any fashion on Pakistani territory is something that a large segment of the Pakistani public (specifically that part that thinks Sharia Law and honor killing is a spiffy idea) would be against. The New York Times however does not care that exposing this program might hinder the war on terror or that it might endanger those troops participating in this effort. They of course post this info out there for all to see (click the title of this post to see the article). I'm just waiting to see them post the dates and times of impending attacks on terrorist positions like bus schedules. Perhaps they should ditch their current lifestyles section and start posting halal recipes and hijab-clad women should fill their fashion section. Idiots one and all.

AWB Part Deux

I don't know how many people have told me that the "blue dog" democrats wouldn't allow the passage of any gun control legislation and that Obama wasn't an anti-gunner. Bovine feces! Socialists hate an armed public. They hate the idea that they might be resisted when they come to ~~confiscate~~ "nationalize" your property.

Banning guns does nothing except impose on the rights of Americans and prevent them from pursuing happiness and defending their families.

Obama ran on the mantra of "Change"... So far, there's not been any change. The only change I've seen is that he's trying to out-Clinton Clinton. Change indeed... I can only shake my head in disgust.

An Atmosphere of Fear

Prior to the election of the sainted Barack, any time the specter of terrorism arose in political discourse our liberal foes would lower their crooked, boney fingers accusingly and shriek the words "fear monger!" Indeed we had been attacked. In fact, more people died in the attack on 9/11 than died during the attack that launched this nation into World War II. Of course the libs denied in droves that it was terrorists that perpetrated that attack. It was of course our own government that killed all of those people they posited.

This perception that we were "using fear" was bolstered by the fact that the much hated president Bush had been so very effective at preventing further attacks. Our men and women in uniform had taken the fight to the terrorists' home turf and kept them busy there. Our national security agencies had managed to break up every attempt to cause us further harm. The libs were lulled into a false sense of security.

Well now that atmosphere of fear mongering has of course subsided. The holy Hussein has ascended his throne and now everything is goodness and light, right?

Well no. Obama is trying to shove trillion dollar spending packages down our throat so fast that no one can look under the covers to see what a bitter pill that package truly is! He tries to sell it as an economic stimulus package. Of course no one is stupid enough to believe that a trillion dollars worth of condoms, dog parks, butterfly resorts, gifts for perpetrators of voter fraud and STD research is going to stimulate a damned thing (except for the egos of the liberal legislators that take their seats in the Kremlin of the new USSA). Everyone with a clear mind sees that this "stimulus" package is nothing more than a tool to cram pork and liberal societal engineering experiments down our throats.

What is Obama using as a shoe horn to cram this thing down our throats? Why nothing but good old fashioned fear mongering of course! If you don't pass the "stimulus" package then the economy is going to crater and "500 million Americans" a month are going to lose their jobs (never mind the fact that there are only about 300 million Americans Ms. Pelosi). The economic Aramagedon will of course be horrendous if Barry doesn't get his raft of needless spending.

What is the specter he is trying to avert? Why a recession of course. What is a recession really? In my mind a recession is nothing more than the American consumer getting a piss poor attitude and deciding to hold on to their cash. It really isn't anything more than that. Some glitch happens in the markets and the consumers get spooked and stop spending. There is no systemic flaw that causes a recession there isn't anything that can be done to stop it from happening beyond changing the mind set of the consumer. How does tossing all of this needless fear mongering about positively effect the attitude of the consumer? Simply said, it doesn't. In fact it makes it worse.

So when we raised the specter of a real determined enemy that wants to do us true harm we were worthless fear mongers but when Barry-boy tries to cram a trillion dollars worth of spending and social engineering down our throats using fear of nothing more than a bad attitude, that's perfectly OK! Mass-murderers are not to be feared, but a consumer with a piss-poor attitude that is dire! Right!

The American voter isn't that stupid. Support for the "stimulus" bill initially started out being very high. Many pollsters placed the support level at 78-80%. But as soon as the details of what this sham of a deal contained were released the support rocketted into the cellar. Now the pollsters place the support for this monstrosity down around 30-35%. Of course it doesn't matter what the hell the American people want. Washington is deaf to our pleas! Washigton has been deaf to our pleas for decades and the election of Barry-boy will not do a damned thing but deepen that trend.

Speaking of those terrorists that want to do us harm... What has the wunderkind been up to in that arena? Why of course he's stopping the prosecution of them of course. Sending the message that if you slaughter American service members then you will not face any retribution.

During the election we were not supposed to mention Obama's close ties to islam, but now that he's in office he's running around the world himself touting them as strong suits and kissing muslim ass on al-Jazeera. He is actively proving that he detests our military service members. He counts their sacrifices for nothing! On the other hand god forbid that some muslim terrorist pig fucker is inconvenienced by having to hang out in Gitmo or by being tried for planning the murder of American sailors!

Shame on you Barry and shame on you America for allowing this idiot into office.

The Liberal Love Affair With Taxes Explained

For some inexplicable reason every liberal you've ever seen has some love affair with taxes. Every time they explain their ideas to improve the world they always contain some ploy to jack up taxes on someone.

Us non-liberals always try to dissuade them from their illogical position by pointing out the wasteful inefficient ways that governments use tax monies. We tell them that government is ill-suited to govern, let alone to administer the distribution of charity donations. We employ every logical argument we can muster and are unabashedly dumbfounded that our logic falls on deaf ears.

The problem is this. Our logical approach is lacking one vital piece of information... Motive.

Liberals by and large do not pay taxes. Either they belong to the low- to no-income entitlement consuming masses who want to consume those tax dollars, inefficiency be damned... OR they belong to the high income scum bags like the ones that we are seeing now nominated to Obama's cabinet... The ones that simply don't pay taxes...

That is why liberals love high taxes... because they won't pay them.

First Obama reneged on his promise not to employ lobbyists in his administration and I guess now his promises to rein in corruption in government. Why am I not surprised?

So I guess last summer when Joe Biden likened paying higher taxes to patriotism he was preemptively castigating the patriotism of Tim Geithner and Tom Daschle.

All I can do is shake my head and ask why the hell we're in this hand basket and why I smell so much brimstone.

This thing is presented as "A bill to provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes." That's right, the licensing of purchasers... They are proposing to license the exercise of a constitutionally documented personal right. Next thing you know, you're going to need a license to speak or a license to exercise your religion. That nifty license to exercise your right will end up costing you $25 per applicable gun, per year. When they say "certain firearms" they mean "any handgun; or any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device". Beyond that it eliminates private sales of firearms and also requires that any firearm possessed is rendered absolutely useless for self defense purposes by means of a lock. You'll also notice that it kindly shields government officials and cops from any of the provisions of the bullshit bill.

Oh and one more thing... This applies to all guns owned prior to the enactment of the bill. So much for grandfather clauses.

This monstrosity is being forwarded by Illinois Representative Rush. All of my Illinois readers should show this prick their appreciation next time his name shows up on a ballot and vote his ass out of office. The rest of my readers need to make their displeasure over this hideous piece of legislation know to their elected officials. We will need to be extremely vigilant and fight very hard to preserve our rights over the term of the socialist domination of our political system. We all need to spring to action.

Obviously the libs are taking the election results as a mandate to unswerivngly pursue their radical socialist agenda. When are they going to learn, gun control legislation does nothing to curb crime? If you want to curb crime all you need to do is curb these ludicrous liberal social experiments.

Walton and his team from the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group had been sent to kill or capture terrorists from a rugged valley that had never been penetrated by U.S. forces — or, they had been told, the Soviets before them.

He peered over the side of the cliff to the dry river bed 60 feet below and considered his options. Could he roll the wounded men off and then jump to safety? Would they survive the fall?

By the end of the six-hour battle deep within the Shok Valley, Walton would bear witness to heroics that on Friday would earn his team 10 Silver Stars, the most for a single battle in Afghanistan.

Walton, a Special Forces team leader, and his men described the battle in an interview with The Associated Press last week. Most seem unimpressed they've earned the Army's third-highest award for combat valor.

"This is the story about Americans fighting side-by-side with their Afghan counterparts refusing to quit," said Walton, of Carmel, Ind. "What awards come in the aftermath are not important to me."

The mission that sent three Special Forces teams and a company from the 201st Afghan Commando Battalion to the Shok Valley seemed imperiled from the outset.

Six massive CH-47 Chinook helicopters had deposited the men earlier that morning, banking through thick clouds as they entered the valley. The approaching U.S. soldiers watched enemy fighters racing to positions dug into the canyon walls and to sniper holes carved into stone houses perched at the top of the cliff.

Considered a sanctuary of the Hezeb Islami al Gulbadin terrorist group, the valley is far from any major American base.

It was impossible for the helicopters to land on the jagged rocks at the bottom of the valley. The Special Forces soldiers and commandos, each carrying more than 60 pounds of gear, dropped from 10 feet above the ground, landing among boulders or in a near-frozen stream.

With several Afghan commandos, Staff Sgt. John Walding and Staff Sgt. David Sanders led the way on a narrow path that zig-zagged up the cliff face to a nearby village where the terrorists were hiding.

Walton followed with two other soldiers and a 23-year-old Afghan interpreter who went by the name C.K., an orphan who dreamed of going to the United States.

Walding and Sanders were on the outskirts of the village when Staff Sgt. Luis Morales saw a group of armed men run along a nearby ridge. He fired. The surrounding mountains and buildings erupted in an ambush: The soldiers estimate that more than 200 fighters opened up with rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, machine guns and AK-47s.

C.K. crumbled to the ground.

Walton and Spc. Michael Carter dove into a small cave. Staff Sgt. Dillon Behr couldn't fit so the Rock Island, Ill., native dropped to one knee and started firing. An F-15 made a strafing run to push back the fighters, but it wasn't enough.

Sanders radioed for close air support — an order that Walton had to verify because the enemy was so near that the same bombs could kill the Americans.

The nearest house exploded; the firing didn't stop.

"Hit it again," Sanders said.

For the rest of the battle, F-15 fighters and Apache helicopters attacked.

Behr was hit next — a sniper's round passing through his leg. Morales knelt on Behr's hip to stop the bleeding and kept firing until he, too, was hit in the leg and ankle.

Walton and Carter, a combat cameraman from Smithville, Texas, dragged the two wounded men to the cave. Gunfire had destroyed Carter's camera so Walton put him to work treating Morales who, in turn, kept treating Behr.

Staff Sgt. Ronald J. Shurer, a medic from Pullman, Wash., fought his way up the cliff to help.

"Heard some guys got hit up here," he said as he reached the cave, pulling bandages and gear from his aid bag.

Walton told Walding and Sanders to abandon the assault and meet on the cliff. The Americans and Afghan commandos pulled back as the Air Force continued to pound the village.

Walding made it to the cliff when a bullet shattered his leg. He watched his foot and lower leg flop on the ground as Walton dragged him to the cliff edge. With every heartbeat, a stream of blood shot out of Walding's wound. Rolling on his back, the Groesbeck, Texas, native, asked for a tourniquet and cranked down until the bleeding stopped.

The soldiers were trapped against the cliff. Walton was sure his men would be overrun. The narrow path was too exposed. He sent Sanders to find another way down. Sometimes free-climbing the rock face, the Huntsville, Ala., native found a steep path and made his way back up. Could the wounded make it out alive? Walton asked.

"Yes, they'll survive," Sanders said.

Down below, Staff Sgt. Seth E. Howard took his sniper rifle and started climbing with Staff Sgt. Matthew Williams.

At the top, Howard used C.K.'s lifeless body for cover and started to shoot. He fired repeatedly, killing as many as 20 of their attackers, his comrades say. The enemy gunfire slowed. The Air Force bombing continued, providing cover.

Morales was first down the cliff, clutching branches and rocks as he slid. Sanders, Carter and Williams went up to get Behr, then back up to rescue Walding. As Walton climbed down, a 2,000-pound bomb hit a nearby house. Another strike nearly blew Howard off the cliff.

Helicopters swooped in to pick up the 15 wounded American and Afghan soldiers, as well as the rest of the teams. Bullets pinged off the helicopters. One hit a pilot.

All the Americans survived.

Months later, Walding wants back on the team even though he lost a leg. Morales walks with a cane.

The raid, the soldiers say, proved there will be no safe haven in Afghanistan for terrorists. As for the medals, the soldiers see them as emblems of teamwork and brotherhood. Not valor.

"When you go to help your buddy, you're not thinking, 'I am going to get a Silver Star for this,'" Walding said. "If you were there, there would not be a second guess on why."

I must admit that I choked up some when I read the last part of that article.

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested today after FBI wiretaps caught him conspiring to sell the US Senate seat vacated by President elect Obama. Other charges include that he also threatened to withhold state help for a childrens' hospital unless sizable campaign contributions were given. In addition, Blagojevich is accused of threatening to withhold state aid to the Chicago Tribune in the sale of Wrigley Field unless the paper fired editorial writers who had been critical of his administration (more "unbiased" press no doubt).

Upon hearing of the charges, Obama made every effort to put as much distance as possible between himself and the fallen governor. Let's not forget however that both Blagojevich and Obama shared in the efforts of fallen campaign fund raiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko.

SWAT Raids Organic Food Coop

On December 1st, a heavily armed SWAT team raided an Ohio family's home, rounded up the entire family and held them on a sofa at gun point for 9 hours... Adults, toddlers and infants alike. The SWAT team was exercising a warrant sworn out at the behest of the Ohio Department of Agriculture (who were also represented during the raid) for the egregious crime of running a retail establishment without a license. You see the Stower family has operated a well-known organic food coop out of their western Cleveland home for years. This is apparently the latest in a string of SWAT raids that appears aimed at cracking down on Amish and traditional farmers for allegedly distributing traditionally raised farm products outside of the regulatory process. Those targeted claim that it is an attempt to persecute small family farms in favor of large corporate industrial farms. After a long string of tainted meat recalls by corporate farm operations, how much more dangerous could this truly be?

Now, I really have very little interest in the issue of hippies distributing organic foods out of their home. My issue arises when SWAT tactics are inappropriately used in abeyance of an American's 4th amendment right to be secure against unreasonable search and seizure. How is it reasonable to hold children at gun point? How is it reasonable to use a police unit designed for extremely dangerous situations to exercise a search warrant on a bunch of hippies in regards to a third degree misdemeanor? This is a continuation of the no-knock warrant issue that I blogged about some time ago. I have nothing against the police. I do however think that we the people need to be vigilant against this obvious attempt to do an end around posse commitatus and the fourth amendment. It has become unsettlingly common to have every warrant served as a no-knock warrant and it has also become unsettlingly common for police forces that don't need them to create heavily armed SWAT forces then try to find any reason to use them.

Nothing to Fear but Fear Itself

On Sunday Obama has asked Americans not to rush out and stock up on guns. He added, "I believe in common-sense gun safety laws, and I believe in the second amendment. Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear. I said that throughout the campaign. I haven't indicated anything different during the transition. I think people can take me at my word."

You see there he goes talking out both sides of his mouth again. By saying both "common-sense gun safety laws" and "I believe in the second amendment" in the same sentence he is being nothing but a run-of the-mill lying politician. His legislative history has proven that his idea of "common-sense gun safety laws"includes an outright ban on all handguns... Something clearly not in line with the second amendment as interpreted by the Supreme Court in Heller vs DC.

Make no mistakes Mr. Obama, we the freedom loving citizens of the United States are on to you. We know that you will support any and every attempt to curtail our rights to keep and bear arms. I understand your consternation though. I mean the people's buying spree means you will have more firearms to confescate.

On the other hand, the left is throwing hissy fits because Obama has not tapped more far-left loons for cabinet positions... Wait a second, he's got Hitlery Klinton in his cabinet and Joe Biden as his veep... How much farther left can you go and still retain enough intelligence to string more than monosyllabic words together into sentences?

Al Quaeda Misinformation

Some time ago Al Quaeda number two man Ayman al Zawahiri posted a new video message in which he mocked President-elect Obama. He called him a "house negro". This of course goes to show that Al Quaeda doesn't truly understand us. Obama was in the Senate after all.

It would appear that NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) has had a small "oops!". This installation, run by Dr. James Hansen is the chief of only four data sets that the UN uses as definitive proof of global warming.

The "oops" occurred when they declared last month the hottest October on record...

To quote the source article:

"This was startling. Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China's official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its "worst snowstorm ever". In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years."

So leave it to bloggers to set things straight. Two of the leading anti-global warming blogs, Watts Up With That and Climate Audit took the claim to task. It was found upon further investigation that there was an anomalous hot spot in Russia... For some reason Russia was 10 degrees hotter. This hot spot, it was found was due to the fact that data for Russia had not been received, so the GISS simply used September's figures. What is the all too often heard Mythbusters' quote? "Well here's your problem right here!" It's no wonder that the world is getting hotter if you are using September's data for October!

Well the GISS quickly released revised but largely unchanged figures (thanks to a newly found anomalous hot spot in the Arctic and this in spite of the fact that there's 30% more sea ice there than there was at this time last year).

The GISS was quick to push blame off with a lame excuse. They claimed that they had received the data "from another source". This is a utterly flabbergasting admission. The principle source of information for the UN's IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has such poor quality control on their data that month-old temperature readings can sneak into the figures unchallenged...

This hardly lends the global warming theory's incontrovertability. Many follow this fad like a religion. A religion that has as heresy the act of questioning its validity.

An interesting thing happens when you begin to penetrate that barrier of incontrovertability with a believer in global warming. It is the same thing that happens when you start penetrating a Christian's religious beliefs. They both will claim, "well it's safer to simply believe than it is to take a chance and be proven wrong in the end". Hallelujah brother and pass the Koolaid.
