QUOTES TO LIVE BY
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Winston Churchill
“The secret of happiness is freedom, and the secret of freedom is courage.” - Pericles
In a time of need, a gun in the hand is better than an entire police department on the other end of a phone line.
While it is true that a government rules only by the consent of the governed. Too many of us have not considered that silence might easily be construed to be consent.
"The arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and assistance to foreign hands should be curtailed lest Rome fall." - Cicero, 55 BC
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." - Samuel Adams
"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction" - Ronald Reagan

Those facts resurface at the right time. That's a shame however that so many people forget to mention the Rumsfeld-Saddam connections of the 1980s. If you don't know what I'm talking about, have a look at this BBC article:

Sailom
Sailom, know this. In the 1980's the Iranians were our enemies because they had taken our people hostage. That does not mean that we didn't dislike Saddam. It just means it was expedient to let Saddam inflict damage on our enemies the Iranians. You know just like the Palestinians and Israelis are both the enemies of the Arabs, but it is much easier to let them slaughter each other and get twice the bang for the buck!
G-Man,
Send me your e-mail address so I can exchange certain things with you in private. (I can't find your inbox info.) Also, I tried to post two comments on your most recent blog entry and for some reason it's just not working. (Must be an eBlogger issue) Got some references to make about all this via my blog so keep your eyes open for THAT.
